In 2013, Sunburnt Music was launched by Johnny Roostar, featuring artists from Melbourne, Gold Coast, Brisbane and the UK. An underlying desire for the label is to release quality underground music intent in lifting the vibration of clubbers, djs and listeners alike to a warmer, better place. Wither it be deep house, house or downtempo, it all promises to take a different approach on the norm and to be full of musical diversity.

2015 has scheduled some quality releases that we look forward to sharing in the near future.

***** 20 Years of DJing – Flashback Flashlights *****

With a 20-year DJ career it is certainly worth flashing back on the beginnings, on how it all began. Daniel Jotzo's story starts with the most heterogeneous setup one can imagine: a conventional CD player and a turntable from a compact system, where Daniel had interconnected a variable resistor between motor and power supply, so that he could pitch the turntable - only slower. Everything digital of today is based on these experiences. There can hardly be a better school. That was in 1993, a time, when the fewest in Germany were able to make use of mixing skills and Daniel presented the first mixing results initially only in front of friends at the local youth club. Over time, the human and technical tools became better and occasional meetings to listen to early techno records became first party efforts.

Scheduled gigs followed, major bookings lined up into weekends and over time, the initial hardware tinkerer became a demanded DJ with many contacts within the scene.
Musical roots that reach back to the early 1990s ingrain the soul inextricably with Techno. One becomes part of an incurable virus, the goosebumps obsession. No words can describe what a Techno lover feels when the bass comes back. At the very most, vocal shreds can describe what an entire generation may have thought on the dancefloor. Being part of this generation is one of the reasons that brought Daniel back to the decks in 2008 after a four-year-break. Only a year later, the founding of the radio project PHONO.FM followed, which was initiated to support newcomer DJs.

Besides productions and remixes under the pseudonym "Chris & Dan", the 2011 published release "Where Is It When She's Not" on Yellow Tail Records was primarily decisive, which was provided by remixes of Markus Ferdinand (M.in) and Jonas Fahz. The cooperation with M.in has now been extended to the upcoming release Spooky Monday EP, on which will as well be a M.in remix.

In early 2013, Daniel withdrawed into the studio to work on further tracks. The year is also started with a contract on the Italian label Frequenza Records and will be followed by a compilation with Pig & Dan. We can be curious about what will follow.
