PAST FUTURE 

Traditionally rhythm takes shape by repetition of similar sounds which change slightly at uniform time intervals. Since the early ages, people used this repetition to elaborate their emotions and thoughts in some order, to make sense of the passing time in their personal reality. While each moment may be unique and incomparable, the rhythm provides an order that fosters some sense of security. 

So what happens when we alter that rhythms structure? Upon our first encounter with such unfamiliar rhythms, the music typically prods the human psyche and provokes the stability of the ego. This can be very troubling for the human kind, as it is in our nature to identify with familiar patterns, and prediction is at the very roots of perception. Introducing unfamiliarity can leave humans subconsciously disarmed and unguarded. 

However, the mind has a strong sense of plasticity. It is always looking to classify and organize, and when faced with new and erring information, the mind has an amazing capacity to restructure itself to make room for challenging information. 

Over time, unpredictable rhythms in music prompt the reexamination of the ego, and ultimately reveal a new way to appreciate the art form. The very notion of rhythm is as such transformed, which subsequently strengthens the psyche as one learns to confront these new structures. One must restructure their own sense of prediction and pattern recognition to embrace this new reality. In a way, this fosters a new platform of possibility in music and in the mind. It induces a state of readiness for the unknown and entrenchment in the moment, which could potentially play an important role in intellectual development. 

When we pay attention to the sound of Minuteless Recordings, we see that the artists work on this structure at the most fundamental levels. In an attempt to surprise themselves in music, they expand their repertoire of familiar patterns for themselves and their listeners. PAST FUTURE is Metacortex Records’ second collaborative release and released as a compilation album in partnership with Minuteless Recordings. PAST FUTURE, with its 13 experimental tracks, designs the moment peculiarly by presenting rhythm and time on a timeless platform at an unpredictable reality. Time is no longer on a straight line where the past is behind you and the future forward, yet the moment is unquestionably at the center of time. So, without further ado, we present to you this moment.

In Latin, Meta is a prefix that brings the meaning of self and beyond to any word its added to. Along with the style of music, Core actually means seed and center. Metamorphosis of the center should be considered as re-forming the values we have and creating a new way of perception. Along with an improving technology, the era we live in makes impossible to discover self and to polish and share our creativity with all its wrong points of view, lifestyles and systems. 
To meet with our essence (core), understand the self and look beyond it (meta), cleanse from egos and discover the beyond-core (MetaCore) will allow a new point of view and a new way of living in between of this chaotic set-up.

Le projet AddictBass est née en 2015, toujours attiré par des atmosphères et musiques sombres, j'ai d'abord commencé en jouant de la Darkpsy. Étant tout de suite absorbé dans cet univers j'ai cherché ensuites la puissance et les grooves et avec le temps et les années je me suis trouvé une affinité avec la dark progressive / Darkforest et Darkpsy. En 2020 je me suis décider à crée mes propres Tracks et monter gentillement mon Live avec la même polyvalence ! Mes productions peuvent aller de 138 bpm comme 238 bpm toujours avec la même intensité qu'une addiction à une substance d'où mon Nom d'artiste AddictBass. The AddictBass project was born in 2015, always attracted by dark atmospheres and music, I first started playing Darkpsy. Immediately absorbed by this universe, I then looked for power and grooves and over time and over the years I found an affinity with dark progressive / Darkforest and Darkpsy. In addition to 2020, I decided to create my own Tracks and smoothly edit my Live with the same versatility! My productions can go from 138 bpm to 238 bpm always with the same intensity as an addiction to a substance, hence my artist name AddictBass. Good discovery, good listening and above all good breath!
