Marley's music had an immense impact on me as a youth and still resonates today Like many, he was my first introduction to reggae and since my first listen back in the 70s and 80s to now, his music does and will continue to stand the test of time and impact generations of fans and musicians alike for  the high quality of song writing and his message of harmony and peace.. 

This re-vision of  "Is This Love" was done a few years ago as a free "white label" promo. Please feel free to share.

Bob Marley Is this Love (Dubmatix Re-Visioned)

The track “Smokin’ Love” opens with swirling piano chords, catchy lyrics highlighting the band’s signature dub sound. The track details multi-instrumentalist, producer and singer Scott Woodruff’s upbeat narrative of wanting to smoke with the one he loves, highlighted in the lyrics:

“I wanna get high, I wanna get low, come on I wanna smoke little spliff with you / Lord knows I’m not a fool, I’m just crazy for you.”

“Smokin’ Love” was recorded the same way as all their songs; in Woodruff’s home studio with each instrument individually recorded and layered in unison to one other. The band has previewed the track through their social media sites and have recently started playing it live.

 Today June 2nd is the official release of reggae/dancehall recording artiste Keida's debut EP Ebb and Flow. The compilation is available on iTunes. The fitting title Ebb and Flow is symbolic of the rhythms of life, a seven
track compilation which embodies the essence of growth and change as inevitable outcomes of the ups and downs ... the coming and goings of life. “Ebb and Flow" is an EP for the youths that I interact with daily ,
both in my family and in yours”. A graduated level of lyrical content is notable throughout the Ep's track compilation introducing the audience to a more conscious side of the artist they may not have seen in her earlier work.
  Opening with her Rory Stonelove produced hit "Ganja Tea", Keida invites
people to use their “meds” and their in a positive way. Ganja Tea, the
classic roots reggae record is followed by "Mad World" the soulful and inspirational piece produced by Royal
Order Music. It urges us to take more responsibility for the realities of the world and be more proactive our contributions; highlighting that there are too many people
who are displeased with the way the society is running for us not to make a
conscious step for a positive change in this mad world. On her U.I.M Records
produced single entitled "One Love", Keida helps her listeners to realize
the importance of one pure love as the nucleus which will stimulate a
positive chain reaction in our consciousness and our interpersonal
relations. "One Love" is introduced by the Great Russell Bell, Math genius
and youth empowerment advocate whose wise words have helped shape the lives
of many. "Russell Bell was the first to call me Keida Rankin, way before music entered my reality. He empowered me by encouraging me to embrace my visual way of thinking and that's something I apply in all areas of my life." The blazing, amped up dancehall track “Hot Ash", also produced by
U.I.M, showcases her versatility and highlights a hard edged up-tempo sound.
On the follow up track "M-16" produced byNatural High Music, Keida
deliberately reaches out to youths who are faced with the difficult choice
between destitution and crime as a means of survival. With the soothing melodies of Chalice's veteran musician Wayne Armond on back up vocals Keida has once again made a full circle back to her roots and the music she was introduced to by her father as a child. She closes out the
track by paying respect to the late Nicodemus, one of dancehall's greats
with her rendition of one of his famous verses. On her final song "Stand For
Something" produced by Royal Order Music, she is “telling every youth mi see
that the only sure way for growth is to stand for something”. The EP closes out with a dub
version of "Stand for Something" produced by Suns of Dub which includes Ras
Jammy, Jah Bami, and Addis Pablo (son of the late GreatAugustus Pablo).
 
  Stand for something or you gonna fall for anything. Rise up and wise up.
Keida and her team Great Whyte Entertainment have worked to ensure that Ebb
and Flow is sending a message that encourages all people to hold on to a
different way of thinking, to engage in positive actions and to take an
active part in shaping a new consciousness.

MAAD T-RAY - Babylon Drugs [Rootfire World Premiere]

Stick Figure is the project of Santa Cruz, California-based producer Scott Woodruff. Lumped into a genre dominated by Reggae-Rock bands, Woodruff earned worldwide acclaim by incorporating lower tempo chillout music with elements of Jamaican dub and reggae.

Noted through his restrained vocals, multi-layered arrangements, and heavy riddims, Woodruff independently released four albums between 2006 – 2010 including The Sound Of My Addiction (2006), Burnin’ Ocean (2008), Smoke Stack (2009), and The Reprise Sessions (2010), each winning numerous year end awards and praise from the scene’s most influential blogs and tastemakers. Despite combined album sales topping 50,000, Woodruff veered away from touring in support of the recordings and settled into a reclusive lifestyle- traveling the world for over half a decade and living on the album royalties.

The release of 2012’s Burial Ground invoked a sea change in the producer, who began to embrace the demand to play live shows, establishing a touring band made up of Kevin Bong (KBong) on keyboards, Kevin Offitzer on drums, and bassist Tommy Suliman, fronted by Woodruff on guitar and lead vocals. The quartet headlined their first national tour in 2014, and on the back of multiple advance sell out shows, Stick Figure reached bona fide headliner status throughout North America and the Pacific Islands.

In 2014, Woodruff moved to a mountainside farm outside Santa Cruz, CA. As his housemates experimented in beekeeping and tincture making Woodruff found solace excavating a foundation and constructing a recording studio on the farm, all in preparation for his most ambitious recording to date, Set In Stone (to be released November 13, 2015).

The release of Set In Stone is a culmination of a journey that has seen the producer go from a mysterious figure to becoming a major player and virtually inventing a melodic subgenre of reggae that finds inspiration from midtempo electronic music.

This project “Chimurenga” holds true to its name meaning, “The People’s Struggle” which is a Shona-Bantu word from regions in Afrika such as Zimbabwe. It represents that everyone who is able in the nation, from the youngest to the eldest, struggles for truths and rights and the progress of the nation as a people. This is why we want to livicate these works to the I-vine Creator of all substance and to our forefathers and foremothers throughout all the ages who have struggled for our liberation selflessly to establish equal rights and justice which is endowd, by life, to all and not some. Give thanks to all who I-tributed to this project and helped to make it possible. We hope this may inspire you to make a progressive change in your life today.

Cuban sensations PAUZA make their full debut on Get Physical having previously remixed Samim’s Heater for the label. 

Paula Fernandez and Zahira Sánchez, both from Havana, Cuba, have a distinctive take on house music that draws on their rich local cultural references. That results in organic percussion and afro tinged drums that are authentic and alive every step of the way. They have been on the scene since 2012 and this new two tracker is another fine statement of their musical skills. 

Magical opener ‘Bésame Mucho’ is cover version and homage to a classic Mexican song by Consuelo Valázquez that has been a staple since the 1940s. PAUZA’s track is a deep and enchanting roller, with rubbery kicks and lithe percussion all run through with an intoxicating lead melody and vocal. It’s a colourful musical adventure full of emotion and charm. The fantastic ‘Cuero’ featuring Golpes Libres is a more drum led affair, with dusty toms and hits jumbled over loose kicks. It’s a track that will have you loosen your bones as you groove along while the xylophone hits and tribal chants add fuel to the fire. The package is completed with a remix from Brazil’s Bruce Leroys, who turn in a superb reworking that finds a deeply hypnotic groove and rides it from start to finish. 

These are perfectly exotic house tracks that bring new flavours to the underground.
