South African born, London based producer Kai van Dongen follows up two killer releases on 1Ø PILLS MATE and Ei8ht Records with a massive four tracker on CYBERDOME spanning lo-fi electro, gabber-influenced techno and Detroit acid.

‘Losing Power’ makes use of Kai’s knack for crafting emotionally captivating synth patterns, but this time under a lo-fi identity with hefty influence from the synthwave golden era; neon shapes and patterns blooming in the night as we continue our journey into darkness.

Autodidact producer based in Marseille, Lois Lazur is a sound artist evolving on the borders of varied musical styles which rub shoulders and sometimes intersect, very gently.
This first mini-album “Half Of A Hand” poses as a manifesto, subtly turning towards post-club music, structured around slow grooves where the bass is heavy and the percussions pile up on jerky rhythms.
Always rhythmic, often very melodic and although sung, his electronic music with Indus, Acid and Dub sounds, illustrates a poetic and metaphysical aim: an invitation to encounter, to the inhibition of gender and class barriers on a variegated dancefloor and certainly caring.

Sophisticated sound design and esoteric themes are widely explored from start to finish.

Viennese don Peter Kruder’s gradual metamorphosis from king of downtempo to purveyor of classy house and techno was perhaps one of the more unexpected shifts amongst electronic luminaries of last few decades, but it has not been in vain. 

His work as half of Kruder & Dorfmeister soundtracked a million crack-ons, afterhours, comedowns, smoke-outs and lounge sessions and remains some of the most timeless material of the recent era.

Under his own name, he has built a long-running relationship with DJ Hell and his International Deejay Gigolo imprint, releasing several EPs of thought-provoking 4/4 as well as releases on Stefan Goldmann’s Macro and Compost Black Label. His mix for Monologues is a journey through some of his finest remixes, showing his respectful and subtle skill in reworking everything from Daft Punk-produced electronic soul to bossa nova and jazz. It’s an honour to have him contribute to the series.

CoastDream from Brazil is the third artist on the Deeptrax label. Again a full 4 track EP, with these raw massive beats over a 90's feel, ecstatic house landscape which has that totally unique, beautiful naive and devastating dancefloor destruction factor. 

Going from glorious overwhelming 'power house' to Prescription like deep groovy house towards 'tape techno' basement tracks to familiar sounding anthems with that deeper than deep underground feel. It's all here..... made for dope sounding sound-systems drowning into dreamy worlds.

Again greatly analogue mastered by Thee J Johanz from Ballyhoo. Release planned for August. Very LIMITED EDITION so watch out!

Selenicereus grandiflorus is native to the Greater Antilles, specifically the islands of Jamaica, Cuba, and Haiti. It can also be found growing among trees and rocks in countries across Central and South America, including Mexico, Honduras, and Nicaragua. Colloquially known as the “Queen of the Night”, Selenicereus grandiflorus produces majestic, nocturnally blooming flowers that open once a year before withering. When in annual bloom the flowers reach up to a foot in diameter and emit a fragrant vanilla aroma. The flowers are supported by a tangled mass of spiny stems that grow thicker and stronger with each annual flowering, and are sometimes harvested for use in homeopathic remedies to improve heart health. Due to the uniquely transient beauty of this cactus, Selenicereus grandiflorus is considered a rewarding addition to any collection.

Our 25th Anniversary slot this week features Richard Dorfmeister who appeared on the show in 2003 and featured many times as one half of Kruder and Dorfmeister, as well as his project Tosca with Rupert Huber, amongst others. Opening with ECM artist Steve Tibbetts, his mix floats between Gui Boratto, his own lush edit for Selah Sue, acoustic guitar of Jeb Loy Nichols and the dubbed out Rhythm & Sound featuring Cornell Campbell on vocals. He then weaves through Pat Metheney, the dub version of Sunset from Grace Jones' last album, blues from Ry Cooder and ending with a couple of tracks from his recent Tosca album 'Odeon'.
