SCI FI ELECTRO - ELECTRO RECORDS

Electro Records have put together seven unique albums for their Sci-Fi Electro Series. Each release takes inspiration from a classic sci-fi film of the 20th century, 2001: A Space Odyssey, THX 1138, Blade Runner, The Thing, Akira, Terminator and Tron, produced by Scape One, Sound Synthesis, Kan3da, Nebenprodukt, N-Ter, Transpac and Alek Stark. But Electro Records created also a very limited edition of only 99 boxes silkscreen printed and hand-numbered that includes some extras, an eight record produced by Mariska Neerman in tribute to Metropolis (!) and a high quality T-Shirt. Each artist created a 15 minutes full track for each side of each vinyl record, each side is divided in “movements”, a full side of about 15 minutes with no pauses, no silences between tracks… You will listen these movements in a continuous morphing process from pure electro to very experimental compositions, sounds and atmospheres.

Each record is manufactured in a different color and the cardboard used for the sleeves is a limited black cardboard embossed with lines that you can see in the pictures, each sleeve is also silkscreen printed one by one in our studios. No re-press!

ER016 - SCI FI ELECTRO - TRANSPAC - THE FUTURE IS HERE - In Tribute To THX 1138

Wavelet is the aka under which the Valencian DJ Mário Ortega hides. He is characterised for being a faithful defender and activist of Electro in all its aspects (having a special interest in combining this style with styles such as IDM) as well as vinyl format.

His interest in electronic music began in the 90's influenced by the sound of labels such as Warp, Skam, Direct Beat or Electron Industries. Later it was labels like Touchin`Bass, Ai Records or SCSI-AV that were carving his style as a DJ until 2013 when he finally decided to take the leap to the decks.

His career has always been largely linked to the Valencian collective Hypnotica Colectiva (HC), being a member of the radio platform "Electronic Café Radio" for three years and being organized and resident of the HC We Are The Robots (W.A.T.R) parties from 2014 to the present.

On the other hand, since 2014, it is common to find Wavelet in the booths of some of the main clubs in the city of Valencia leading him to share the bill with artists such as ADJ, Carl Finlow, Boris Divider or Umwelt among others.

He currently runs with Sigma_Algebra the label Tensor Norm, whose second vinyl release was released at the end of this year (see bit.ly/3KImm3s for more information).

"Dual tone multi frequency (DTMF) is a technology used with touch tone phones, best known to users as the sound made when pressing a number key. It signals the phone company that you want to make a call and sends a command to the switch."

I ran a bulletin board system in the 90s and this mix reminds of the golden era of PC games, red boxes and 14.4K modems. Now it's your turn to get phreaky with the phone system and engage in cybernetic dirty talk.

Producer, live performer, sound artist and DJ, Trois-Quarts Taxi System (Eloi Petillon) is part of a post-covid generation that fully embraces its hybrid style, freeing itself from genre assignments to create complex, hypnotic soundscapes. Dubstep, techno, electroacoustic and even dnb are just some of the valleys he flies over and mixes in search of cerebral, psychedelic and unpredictable experiences where futuristic sound design, field recording and polyrhythms combine and confront each other.

He is  a resident on Rinse and Lyl radio stations, in 2019 he co-founded the De la... je l'espère collective and label, and the following year the Hard Love Motor Love label, dedicated to experimental music and visual creations. In 2024 he and DalidaCarnage released the first album of their duo Malesa, mixing bass music, trip-hop and poetry in Spanish. He went on to perform across Europe after a number of releases on French and international labels, including Norberg Festival, RSO, NDK Festival and, more recently, Positive Education.
