Hailing from the north of England, now based in Leeds, DJs, producers and owners of Odour Recordings record label, Freaky Behaviour have promoted and played at venues across the globe. Their unique ability to create an underground sound that is also fun and dance floor friendly has led them to be recognised as one of the UK most highly respected and sought after producers.

A thirst for underground music from Hip Hop, and funk, to Breaks and House, and a need to showcase it, has enabled them to work with some of the world's finest DJs and producers. Musical influences come from far and wide, everything from the deepest shades of House to Techno and everything in between. 

Freaky Behaviours' sound stems from Chicago House roots and is something that is prevalent throughout most of their productions and DJ sets.

Delighted to welcome guest DJ BUFS to the show, who had the place rocking with a fantastic funky jackin house set - enjoy....

Plymouth DJ/Producer BUFS has been spinning since 2000 and has curated his collection of Funky/Jackin Chicago house sounds and skills over 20 years. Often playing events in both the UK and LA, he has also held various residencies on internet radio stations and streaming sites. 

BUFS productions are often seen in the top traxsource charts within the Jackin house genre and charted by many heavy hitters such as Hatiras, Joey chicago, David Britton, Disco Ballz & supported by many others. The 16th edition of PlayHouseSessions. Apologies if you're looking for the 15th, I forgot to press record - so that one will be lost in the ether for ever I'm afraid.

I really enjoyed playing this set, as always it includes digital and vinyl tracks and was recorded live on my monthly twitch show, which gives me a chance to try out new stuff and promos kindly given to me by some ace producers. This set includes an unmastered future banger from one of my favourite producers (and good friend) Jobu called 'Be Better' - look out for it in the future, its gonna be a massive track amongst the heads.

My warm up set for the legendary Danny Howells who played a superb 4-hour set after me for Resonate's 1st birthday party in Manchester.

I didn't actually know I was playing the warm up until about 2 hours before - which kind of explains why the record selection isn't quite what you'd describe as 'warm up' music .. that and the fact I can't bloody play warm up music :-)

It was such an amazing night with lots of ace DJs and gorgeous people. The vibe was on point - hope you're feeling it.

I did this for a gig promoter who never got back to me - that's DJ life 😭

So thought I'd share it with the world. It's a bit more on the jackin' vibe to start with but goes a bit deeper with acid and garage elements, never losing the groove.


Rejected Mixtape - deep chunky underground house

This mix has been sitting privately on my account since Feb so thought it's about time I aired it.

I originally did it for the Hypedrive collective's Mixcloud channel run by my good friend Brett Smithson:

The track selection was carefully planned - I wanted to get across my musical heritage, what I grew up listening to and how my taste in electronic music has evolved over the years. 

So this mix is very close to my heart.

You'll hear elements of hip hop, jazz, funk, acid jazz, neo soul, reggae, disco, acid house, New York, Chicago and UK deep house from the 90s through to present day.

Don't expect dancefloor bangers from the start. Forgive the cliche but this is a real journey that will take you from early evening through to sunset and into the early hours - so tune in and go with it.
