Russian producer @Scruscru keeps his 2021 golden run of form going with a return to @deeppamusic for the second edition of their Perfect Duality Series. Hard to believe it’s been 3 years since Jungle Fire first graced the RNT Catalog, and now the west coast boys of summer are back with a 5-track remix EP of varied Latin soul funk vibes, reimagined by a stellar cast of remixers.

On the A-side, Colombian juggernaut Felipe Gordon takes Atómico fully nuclear with a stomping bass-heavy house remix, and JKriv goes elektrik with his Elektrikossa dub that sprinkles dubbed out and acid elements over a pulsating rubbery groove.

On the flip, turntablist Nu-Mark delivers a punchy breakbeat take on Atómico, Jungle Fire member Patrick Bailey goes full-on boogie vibes with his Snake In Da Bronx Dub of La Kossa, and the record winds down with the dubby halftime flavor of Samual Miles remix of Biri Biri. Whether in the open-air club, block party or rooftop, this record is the sound of summer 2021!

Joe Claussell remixes one of Ten City's most beautiful records for Ibadan’s second release, setting the tone for one of NYC’s most important House labels.

Byron Burke, Herb Lawson and Byron Stingily's super Deep House group Ten City were the most prolific artists at the dawn of Ibadan Records. 'All Loved Out' is one of their particularly less dance floor records, but shows their and Ibadan's high standard for versatile music. These two versions see remixes from one of Jerome’s premier partners in crime, Joaquin Joe Claussell.

'All Loved Out (Ilú Ife – Love Drum)' starts off is a sensual seemingly orchestral composition, drifting almost nowhere near the shores of House or Electronic Music in general. However, as the title suggest the sound of a drum does come in, albeit way past the 5 minute mark and with a markedly organic and tribal feel, leaving only a slight remnants of how this beautiful piece of music began.

Production heroes Moodymann and Kenny Dope revisit one of electronic music’s foundation records, Rude Movements by SunPalace, with brand new remixes issued on BBE Music’s vinyl-only offshoot imprint ALIM.

Presented on strictly limited 7” vinyl, Moodymann and Kenny Dope pay tribute to a New York Loft classic first made famous by David Mancuso, which strongly influenced both artists early in their careers, as well as helping to shape the early House Music movement in the hands of Larry Levan, Nicky Siano, Frankie Knuckles and Danny Krivit among many others.

Two of the modern electronic scene’s most consistent innovators and elevators, Moodymann and Kenny Dope were selected by SunPalace producer Mike Collins himself to rework the track. Sadly, Mike passed away in late 2018 before either version was completed, but as a fan of both artists, we’re sure Mike would have been excited by both of these loving and reverent revisions to his iconic work.

Recorded in 1981s at Mike’s home studio in London, ‘Rude Movements’ was originally released as the B-Side to a track called ‘Winning’. A true Brit-funk oddity, the track’s improvised nature and lack of vocal hooks initially consigned it to obscurity, until its pristine sonics and irrepressible groove caught the ear of David Mancuso and he presented it at his already influential Loft Party.

Moodymann’s remix retains the ‘jammed’ feel of Rude Movements, introducing stellar flute, sax and piano solos over the groove, while remaining utterly faithful to the original vibe.

Kenny Dope’s ‘Dancefloor Powder’ version adds a vintage Afro-Latin drum break into the mix, while showcasing the original’s epic synth solo.

A deluxe double vinyl package containing extended versions of these remixes, plus several more, is planned for release on BBE Music in 2021. ...

Admin has been consciously collecting and spreading musical grooves in Bristol for around a decade. Founder of the fabled clubnight, Slix Disco, and whitelabel edits series 'Community Disc-O’s’, the consistency and quality of his musical projects stand out amid a vibrant local scene whilst attracting attention from peers and fans alike from around the globe.

A studious beatsmith and producer, Admin draws influence from his record collection. Disco, Jazz, House and Hip Hop guide his own productions into different soulful and eclectic directions. With records released on Sleazy Beats, Boogie Cafe, Omena, Futureboogie and more, Admin's music is a testament to the bedroom producer ethos - making tracks which just as easily start the dancefloor as hypnotise the home-listener.

Whether DJing percussive-heavy disco and boogie, producing jazz-tinged house, jamming with drum machines and keyboards for beat tapes, scouring for new label releases or soothing listeners on independent radio, Admin executes everything with detail and affection. It's these attributes that make him an exciting talent and one to cast a forensic eye on.
