German duo GOME cook up a tasty debut with their “Chop Shop” EP with dance music enigma Michael Cignarale

Gome has been a familiar face in the club scene since they released their hit ‘Tell me’ on their label Snackwax in 2023. However, It wasn’t until a show at Wildeburg in 2024 that the Swindles connected with them in true Swindle style. Cause what do you do when you get a high profile booking for your live show, but one of you is really sick? That’s right, you ask help. Enter the Swindles, not unfamiliar with live shows themselves, and there you go: Live set saved, crowd happy, and a friendship over music was formed. Fast forward to 2025, and we’ve got GOME’s popularity rising with through their new releases and catchy music-cooking videos. And now? Their debut on Heist. The Chop Shop EP holds 4 feel-good house tracks and a cheeky appearance by emerging artist Michael Cignarale.

The EP kicks off with ‘House music’. The aptly titled song is an ode to the 90s sound of Kerri Chandler and his peers, with lush chords, beefy drums and a disco-inspired  bassline that would make any producer drool. There’s a nice personal touch of the duo, who sampled their own vocals with some cheeky talk about House music. Pretty fun and more importantly, 100% on point for a track that oozes love for the genre. It’s got a big splash of throwback energy, and sometimes that’s all we need to keep the spirit of house alive.

‘Cut the midrange’ is a high-energy groover with frantic drums, filtered chord stabs and a hint of that rave energy that we love seeing on todays dancefloors. It’s got quirky vocal and energetic synth hits which makes it one of those peak time tracks that keeps the energy high, without asking too much attention.

‘You’re my baby’ is a special one, built around the falsetto vocals of the queer community’s future icon Michael Cignarale. Named as one of the emerging DJ’s to watch by Mixmag last year, this multi-disciplinary artist has already made a name with his productions, performances and vocals. GOME cleverly use the ballroom energy of Michael’s vocals in this all-out anthem. There’s a big bassline, a classic house piano and plenty of drumrolls, all to make this a tune that works as a closing track, or as the big moment in the middle of your set. It’s fun, emotional, and energetic. In 1 word? Essential. 

 ‘Keep funkin’ is a heavy cut where chords hits, scratches and an old school rap vocal all work together for some serious forward-leaning energy. Add to that some classic house pads, sirens and a drumroll, and you’ve got yourself a full-on party track. Up last is the acapella of ‘House music’ for your DJ pleasure.

The Chop Shop EP is a perfect showcase of GOME’s sound: high-energy, fun, hints of the 90s and a lot of musicality. We’re extremely happy to have them on the label and as always, enjoy the music and play it loud!

With releases on Scissor and Thread, Kompakt or Dial  Soela moves fluidly between house, dub techno, and experimental electronica. Collaborations with Philipp Priebe, Steve O’Sullivan, and Module One reveal her instinct for connection — sound as dialogue, rhythm as language.

Based in Berlin, born in Russia, she builds bridges between warmth and restraint, memory and momentum. Every track, every set — a quiet conversation that lingers.

15th Transition: Soela

Over the past couple of years, Frits Wentink has blessed us with four releases as part of the FRITS X WOLF series. Each 12” showcasing Frits classy & impeccable productions. To round off this chapter WOLF and Frits present a special remix EP with fresh takes of their favourite tracks from the series.

Up first is Bonafide legend, Ian Pooley with his exceptional take on the killer About You, even blessing us with some bonus beats.

On the flip, Prince Palmer elevates Intentions into a peak time burner that is sure to turn any dancefloor into a frenzy. Rounding off the EP, Dominic Oswald lends his signature sound to Club Land, deep, groovy and hitting all the right spots.

Another essential addition to the FRITS X WOLF discography. The previous releases haven’t stuck around for long so as always buy or cry!

There’s a rare tenderness to the way Byron The Aquarius makes house music. Across every release, the Alabama-born producer brings a deep sense of humanity - chords that breathe, basslines that sway, and melodies that seem to remember. On 'One of a Kind (Love Affair)', his debut for Hard Times, that emotional clarity shines through once again.

A master of the keys with a discography that spans Eglo, Signature, Apron, Axis, and more recently Skylax and Star Creature, Byron has long blurred the boundaries between jazz, soul, and machine groove. Here, he builds four tracks that each glow with feeling and finesse.

‘A New Life' opens with uplift and propulsion - crisp kicks and fluid sax lines circling around tender vocal refrains. 'The Last Mile of the Way' drifts inward, its spoken-word cadence and pulsing rhythm turning reflection into hypnosis. On the flip, 'I Be Like Dat' pushes forward with a tougher, more percussive edge. A laser-guided club moment that still hums with soul. Finally, '4 Mike Huckaby' closes the record as both elegy and celebration: shakers, muted horns, and shimmering keys floating in quiet reverence for a lost friend and inspiration.

As its title suggests, One of a Kind (Love Affair) is less about romance and more about devotion.
