We start the week with new music from Limerick boss man Chaz Moloney as he debut on Obsuur’s sub-label Ótomo Trax. We premiere the Aeron XTC remix as he pumps some rolling rhythms into the original, serving up a pumping rework of Chaz’s original.

Chaz Moloneys 4 track debut on Obsuur’s sub-label Ótomo Trax is comprised of 2 original tracks and 2 remixes from two Irish techno stalwarts, Aeron XTC & Mode_1.

“I’ve really taken my time in releasing any music over the past while, as I wanted to wait until I was fully confident and sure of what I was putting out. And I think this EP, although only 2 tracks long, captures the sound I’m chasing at the moment.“

Chaz Moloney has been at the helm of Limericks techno scene for many years. Running Touch Of Techno and being one half of Midweek means that Chaz is dedicating his full time to a career within dance music. Having had a successful year with Midweek releases alongside David Sheeran, Chaz’s willingness to release some new music under his own name slowed down, as the Limerick native wanted to craft a idiosyncratic sound that portrayed his music in an idiosyncratic light and banging intent.

Aeron XTC has been a staple part of Dublin’s thriving techno scene for many years, having run many important nights such as Trainwreck and now Research label. If you’ve been attending any sort of techno night in Dublin in the last decade, there’s a rather sizeable chance that you’ve caught Aeron XTC at the helm of the decks one night or another. Aeron XTC’s remix for Chaz Moloney see’s the Research boss dive into deep and driving territories, as he puts an atmospheric spin on the original track. Bouncing basslines meet swinging synth hooks and cavernous atmosphere for a forceful club tool that has just the right amount of spring with a sprinkle of menace from the Dublin god of slaughter.

Machina 001 is the first release from the Fort Worth, Texas label Body Motion, the distributing arm of long-running techno collective @beverlyhillscowboy. Packed with enough groove to keep the dancefloor going all night - something that the wildly popular Beverly Hills Cowboy parties are known for.

All proceeds of Machina 001 will go to the opening and operation of the record's namesake club, Machina, which BHC hopes to have fully functional in time for the hot Texas Spring.

Gutter Money is the official alias for the collaboration between Texas producers Sticktalk (@politicalwitchcraft) and @clubcab. Sharing production duties with BHC resident Jesus Freak (who operates with Sticktalk as Freaktalk), the three present Dirty Dick, a track with not so subtle allusions to Chicago ghetto house over an intense pumping techno loop designed to blow your trunk.

For this edition of Chromies we’re sending all the money to the he School Of Bop in London, which is a free to attend space and are providing music workshops for young people aged 13-25. SoB opens an avenue for self-expression of young people from all walks of life. In a safe and inspiring space, the workshops venture into the sounds of Hip Hop, Soul, Jazz, Garage, Drill, Afrobeat and Grime. By exposing young people to talented professionals, they aim to highlight the idea that music can be a viable career path as well as creative and therapeutic outlet.
