Hello, my name is Bob and I am a synthaholic. I'm not in denial but, I refuse to seek treatment. I'm addicted to sound of synths. The concept of an electronic machine, who's only purpose is to make mesmerizing sounds, is wonderful thing, and I get great pleasure out of operating them. While I enjoy simply listening to them, most of all, I get a real kick out manipulating and tweaking them, with the aim of extract sounds that are the most interesting, stimulating and give the greatest pleasure.  Then, I carefully blend these sounds together into my own original creations, for your listening pleasure.  

Music of all types has been a huge part of my life since I was a kid. While I make electronic music, I enjoy just about all types of music. It was my enjoyment of classical music and hearing "Switched On Bach", that first introduced me to the wonders of the Moog synthesizer, opening my mind to electronic music. The band New Order sealed the deal, and from then on I was hooked to the sounds of electronica.

I'm an experienced radio and club DJ, as well as composer, arranger, recording engineer and  music producer, with a number of diverse credits to my name. My current project is working on recording an album of my own electronic music, along with making my own remixes of the tracks on the album, as well as enlisting the remix skills of others. My main goal, is not to sound like anyone else. To do that, I build everything from scratch, with no loops or static preset sounds. It is a lot of work but, what I end up with is truly my own creation and I am constantly evolving, gaining more and more control over every step of the creative process. These are exciting times. This project has taken some interesting twists and turns, and there are several quite interesting possibilities on the horizon.

Most of the recent tracks that are posted here, are tracks that, for one reason or another, I have chosen not to use on the album. There are many reasons that a track may or may not get selected. Often, I will make several versions of a track and all may come out well, but one is clearly better. So, I keep the best track for the album and share the best of the rest, here on Soundcloud. 

A musician needs to be constantly pushing themselves, re-inventing themselves and trying new and different things. Especially when you are in a constant state of experimentation, simple fact is, not every track you make ends up quite the way you envisioned, and while occasionally that is for the best, at the same time, a good producer knows when to switch gears and move on, which can be difficult, especially after you have put a lot of time & energy into something. So, I'm glad to have Soundcloud where I can share my latest tracks that are interesting, unique and entertaining, even if they aren't my ultimate works.

So, please enjoy and help yourself but, I would appreciate it if you would leave some constructive commentary on the tracks. Your feedback really helps me see things from other peoples points of view. (It is very hard to be objective about your own work.) You don't need to be a music expert to leave feedback, just be genuine, give your honest opinion and don't be a negative jerk. Posting "This track sucks." is not feedback. Feedback would be: "This track sucks, because I'm reasonably certain that very few people actually enjoy 15 minute dub-step tuba solos. " Even if you don't know why you do or don't like something in a song, simply posting a timed comment of "This is good" or "This part is weak" helps me out. I think sometimes people are worried about offending someone by saying something negative but, if that is how you feel, don't hold back. Like I pointed out, it is not hard to tell the difference between someone simply expressing an opinion, and someone who is just being nasty.
