DANCE IN THE LIGHT AND ALMOST BELIEVE

Like the short lyrics' meaning "love has no hurry", music makes contrasts on rhythms and textures even inside each part: Main theme starts with fast drums on slow melodies & has a DANCEABLE? 2nd part with lead bass guitar; Central theme makes fast tracks become slow to the left channel and vice-versa, progressing to a POST-ROCK? atmosphere. Meanwhile, two lead guitars and echoing voices complete the contrasting piece. I hope to get your feedback !!!

Disquiet Junto Project 0531: Noise Sculpt
The Assignment: Listen for a mirage of your music within white noise.

I listened to an audio recording I made at a beach recently. Unfortunately, it was breezy, so I got bad wind noise occasionally on my phone's mic... But there's nothing more soothing to the soul of the sound than the North Atlantic's waves rolling to shore; an immersive sound in late evening. 

Thought of putting it thru some bitcrushing - heavy aliasing and digital quantisation errors cause little "pins and needles" appear in the sound.

So I took my partially-complete disquiet0353 piece (Warp & Weft / The Assignment: Read loom-woven fabric as a musical composition - disquiet.com/0353/). I used an extreme configuration of SonicPhoto.exe from skytopia.com as the source material here, over the source image from disquiet0353 (see https://imgur.com/a/f24WsDu). A very fine piece of software, well worth investigating. 
PaulStretch then of course accentuated it's vibe.
Put the result thru D16 Decimort, into alot of effect layers across 8 busses, playing alongside a Reaktor Prism patch, and an Arturia SEM track into a nice delay (PSP StompDelay).

It was a pleasure working with Andreas Kitzmann's track https://soundcloud.com/andreas-kitzmann-27370936/disquiet0591, thanks @andreas-kitzmann-27370936!

With such gorgeous material, there wasn't much more to do than plug in my acoustic and play the guitar into the Chase Bliss Mood (so may not be immediately recognisable as guitar, apart from a bit at the end that I left relatively straightforward). Some minimal flavouring of the reverberating & delaying kind, with the dosage slightly higher for the purer acoustic sounds towards the end. 

The Tête-à-Tête pic taken at Tate Modern London seemed very appropriate for this week's assignment.

Rodolfo https://soundcloud.com/rplanes first shared this beautiful piece with me 2 years ago, which has had a gradual development since I first wrote the lyrics back then. More recently Ce Mastro https://soundcloud.com/cemastro added some exciting backing vocals which transformed the chorus and then even more recently we invited Dave McKeown https://soundcloud.com/dave-mckeown to contribute some lovely sax that we believed was just what the song needed. Rodolfo's song has such a feeling of romantic innocence yet with a wonderful rhythmic flow, that I hoped the words might feel from a simpler time. We hope you all enjoy our song of innocence (and inexperience) which thankfully is a work of fiction. Thanks again to Rodolfo for sharing this magical piece and his great skills as well as Ce and Dave's unique gifts to make this one happen.

It starts off pretty. But about 1:18 in it starts abusing you. This whole album is heavy. It’s my favorite riff off of Roma. This is an album I made in 2020. The album is all Roman History. This song is about the Battle of Teutoburg Forest… the Varian Disaster. It’s worth learning, then listening so this song makes sense. But I can be your teacher if you want. There’s more on Spotify. 2020. A productive year. I should do that again. But right now I’m on another project. I’m focusing on something very different. But… it will happen again one day. I can’t wait to be 80 and making metal riffs. It’s so funny how different we are from our own grandparents. Lol. Mine knew how to Charelston. Love it. You youngins can look that up. A dance called the Charelston. Nobody does it anymore. We had Running man in my day. You had… shoot. It’ll come… the floss. That’s what you guy have.
