What an offshoot from your normal sound. Barely could tell this was you, even after hearing it several times. Kudos, Friend. The guitar chorusing is fabulous--reminds me of the gothic '80s sounds of Siouxsie and the Banshees and Cocteau Twins. Even The Cure could be thrown in there for good measure!

... adore the crickets chiming in. And the fading guitar strumming chord structure and harmonica are genius!

'Ars longa, vita brevis.' - ‘Art is long, life is short.’

A favourite quote of Ryuichi Sakamoto, a famous and fantastic composer and pianist, who died a week ago at the age of 71. 
I have always loved his music, being often nostalgic and melancholic, film scores and solo work as well as collaborations with many great artists.
I chose to cover one of my favourite pieces of him, Bibo No Aozora, Beauty of a blue Sky. Most know this piece from the movie ‘Babel’, a 2006 psychological drama film directed by Alejandro González Iñárritu and written by Guillermo Arriaga, starring Brad Pitt, Cate Blanchett and Gael García Bernal.

“Peaceful Easy Feeling” is a song by the American rock band Eagles, written by Jack Tempchin. It was released in 1972 as part of their debut album. The song has a laid-back, country-rock feel and is known for its soothing melody and harmonious vocals

Jack Tempchin wrote “Peaceful Easy Feeling” while he was living in a small apartment in California. He drew inspiration from the serene atmosphere of the state, which is reflected in the song’s lyrics. The Eagles liked the song and recorded it for their first album

In the early 1970s, “Peaceful Easy Feeling” became one of the Eagles’ signature songs. It resonated with the counterculture movement of the era, which sought peace and simplicity. The song’s mellow sound and easygoing lyrics struck a chord with listeners, making it a hit on the Billboard charts

All things must pass.....even the enlightened state (Nirvana)...(not the band).....that feeling when a steady state starts to breakdown.

Wind ensemble tracks: Clarinet (5); Flute (4); Alto Sax (2); Tenor Sax (2); Soprano Sax (2); Oboe (2). 

0 - 1.49 min -  steady melodic A/B structure (few random elements appear)..
1.50....gradual descent into chaos on B section until 2.02 when soprano saxes steady it...but free elements gain ground
2.17 - section A with oboe holding it up...against some disintegrating chaos (panned).. 
2.32 - return of B section and the final comedown...oboes trying hard till the end.

That's the way i saw it anyhow.  [Try it with headphones if poss.]

This latest Eclectic Collective song was probably the most collaborative in a true sense as we've yet released. The song began with Josh trying to piece together a couple of ideas that he'd come up with on the piano. He sent his ideas to JJ, who took out a connecter section that Josh had no intention of making anything of, and turned it into the body of the song. He returned the song to Josh complete with a signature JJ Terrell climactic coda. Then Josh added the bass to JJ's piano, with some help from the always solid drums from Ken. The way it usually goes is that Josh comes up with a scratch bass line to accompany the song, then Ken adds drums, then Josh goes back and adds the bass to fit the beat. Sometimes they go back and forth, but not this time so much. 

  Then, Stephen added the foundational guitar in the first section, and came up with the idea for the coda. Josh added some mandolin to the coda, too, after which Stephen redid the guitar in the coda to make it very dynamic and part the clouds. Tez finally came along and added the fiery solo and the charming fills in the main section. Most of this time, MD had been working on the narrative lyrics and refining his melodic vocals. Finally, Stephen put it all together for us and mixed it in his expert fashion. 

  We hope you enjoy the thrill of the climax, and also get a chuckle out of the lyrics, which are included below.
