I'm always improving my setup, and this was my first time (on the show) having live vocals over top of mixing. Next time I do this, I'll run the mic through some preprocessing to make the singing part smoother. Also, I'm always improving my levels. I didn't have a great way to monitor the output, so please excuse the mic clipping.

Fatoumata Diawara sings mostly in Bambara, a language spoken in Mali. 
"Nterini" translates to "my love/confidant" and depict a man traveling alone, presumably migrating, as his family back home anxiously go about their lives. It shows a snippet of an immigrant's journey without a sense of resolution.

This edit was meant to be spreading the love of her music and the message behind it. The intention was to translate the original version to slower, electronic driven dancefloors and hearts. Enjoy.
