My contribution to Disquiet Junto Project 0567: Three Meters.

The Assignment: Make music in 5/8, 6/8, and 7/8 time signatures.

Three random samplers controlling the notes, timbres and volumes of three synths, put through some effects to mush up the sound a bit.

disquiet0567 Weaving

This started with a kick in 5/8, snare in 6/8 and hats in 7/8. Then bass was added in 5/8 and modular in 7/8. I used Felt Instruments' Smugi filter bank sequencing the filters in 5/8 time for the bass and 5/8 and 7/8 for the modular. Modular voice was 2HP Pluck through a Doepfer Wasp filter, sequenced and modulated using CV Toolkit. Drums are Ableton's Core 909.

Notes: In this case I have the three parts play back to back and then overlay each other in different combinations.
