Classic horror film Carrie tells the story of a tormented outcast who, tricked by her classmates, is crowned prom queen and drenched in pig's blood. Pushed too far, she unleashes her infernal revenge. It's easy to imagine this tale of bullying from a queer perspective

King of Prom Queens does exactly that, with spiteful giggles and glittering lighter clicks, against a cinematic sonic landscape. This slow burn, like Carrie, builds to a blazing climax.

The 2000s are the golden age of creative, melodic pop production. When Terfs Cry invokes elements from the heyday of artists such as Timbaland and The Pussycat Dolls, like harmonic la-la-la's and pitch-bent timpani strokes. The track's seductive chorus features formant-shifted androgynous vocals and sarcasm deeper than Mariana's Trench.
