FOUDRE! is a new experimental project created by Frédéric D. Oberland (Oiseaux-Tempête, FareWell Poetry, Le Reveil des Tropiques), Romain Barbot (Saåad) & Grégory Buffier (Saåad, Autrenoir, Mondkopf). This, their debut cassette, compiles their first meetings and rehearsals. The resulting "Magnum Chaos", almost 40 minutes of total improvisation, is like the centre of a black-hole, a total, almost oppressive collapsing of  the trio's energies. Experimental, noise, drone, dark-ambient, electronic, lo-fi, chiaroscuro, these varying aesthetics converge to create a darkened room full of flickering stars and fading shadows. "Magnum Chaos" is too dense and too rich to be considered a demo tape. It is, rather, a sincere recording of the birth of a project. A recording where unedited events and audio clips are there to document and remind that for all the hours of fine tuned arrangements there must also be the pure expressions of three musicians in a free environment.

Pinkcourtesyphone reaches out and touches someone… in this case an international call with Dutch harpist extraordinaire, Gwyneth Wentink. 

Wentink weaves her magic with an improvisation on the triple harp, a replica of a harp from around 1600 made of 3 rows of strings instead of the more common single row. The effect is a multi-timbral coalescence of mood, a conversation between layers. 

Pinkcourtesyphone thoughtfully folds, manipulates, and merges the gossamer resonances of the strolling fingers of Wentink under and over a hazy sonic shroud of worn romance and phobophobia. 

This spiralling composition is created for endless heavy rotation/ background consumption for an anxious and medicated society prone to ambivalence.

this was my first random sequence. 

at the heart of it all is a turing machine (clocked by the sample & hold on the mfb dual lfo) which is feeding a quantized braids in SIX3 mode, which is feeding clouds which is modulated by an a147, mfb dual + super sloth. one of clouds outputs is manually being fed to the cv of the frequency cutoff of a pittsburgh filter via a µAtt. along the way somewhere a clock pings the piston honda (also modulated by a147) via a ladik c214 envelope + pitts vca, which feeds a synthrotek eko. also, a radio music plays a texture behind it all. phew.
