Levantine serves up his most propulsive, hard-edged music on this new EP for Exploited Club.

On the title track ‘High Energy’, distorted kicks suck at a tense synth arpeggio while in the distance a dramatic melody plays amidst a church-like reverb. Acidic overtones rise in the arp before big snare hits drop in and the lead melody shifts up an octave dramatically. Techno-tinged hi-hats push things forward more before we strip back in stark style and vox synths arrive to increase the haunting feel further still. Little else is needed aside from clever arrangement and juicy electronic tom fills to keep this one rocking until the very least beat.

‘Power, Corruption & Lies’ takes its cues from muscle-pumping ‘80s Hi-NRG, with a pogoing synth b-line trading blows with tight claps and gated snares by turns. Spare but spacious percussive rhythm pervades to accentuate the double-time bass, leading us to a breakdown decked out with a plucked, trancey melody and filtering, sweeping pad sustains. The tension builds before everything gels together, with the haunting feel of the title track continued here. As always, Levantine’s sense of drama and atmosphere shines through effortlessly.

We have already said it before in one of our premieres, let’s say it again: There are MANY interesting labels and outstanding artists out there that are still flying under the radar. Acclaimed by their local communities but still not nation/worldwide sought, they keep fighting the good fight either aiming to become rich & famous or keeping things simple & easy, just to make other people smile for a while with their craft.

Dance Petrol Records is one of these labels. With an incredible catalogue featuring high-quality House Music and its sub-genres, we can safely bet you’d find proper gems after only a few minutes of browsing their rich collection of releases.

So.undso is one of these artists. The German duo are the co-owners of Dance Petrol and can’t get enough of handing over top-shelf material not only on their own outlet but also on international imprints such as AWK, Lisztomania, and Inhale Exhale, just to name a few.  

The remixer is no different: Munich-based Jorginho Joao, the other boss of DPR, makes good use of refined production expertise and sharp creativity to bring to life frenzied peak-time House Music themes. 

So.undso’s “Alte Spuren”, released originally in May this year, comes back to the shelves with its “refueled” version featuring fangy remixes by Schegg, A_P_F_L, and of course, Jorginho Joao, who brought “Gedränge Vor Der Fähre” to a different turf: If the original is a melodic and trippy 106 BPM beauty, JJ’s 130-BPM interpretation is definitely a frenzied and lively beast.

UK dance music antagonist Works Of Intent redefines big room techno on ‘Richer Sound’, an album with six all-new tracks alongside six cuts previously released on Laurent Garnier and Scan X's COD3 QR label.

Works Of Intent is a vital voice in the underground who champions the sounds and stories of South Asian creatives in his role as Project Manager and Visual Designer for DAYTIMERS. He has also written multiple essays on race, class and privilege in the industry while laying down expressive sets across four decks at key clubs like fabric, Panoramabar and Rex. His emotive, storytelling sounds have come on labels like Turbo, Rekids and Monkeytown, and outside that, he's a go-to mix engineer for some of the UK's most exciting prospects.

‘Richer Sound’ features six tracks previously released on the label’s Various Artist EPs and six brand new offerings that avoid tired big room tropes. Gone are the snare rolls, white noise risers and kick drops, instead Work's operates under the mantra of "big tunes for big hearts" where musicality makes the motive. The artist himself has taken care of the artwork, mixing and mastering and says of the album, “It’s melancholia turned up so loud you can’t ignore it. It’s a deafening barrage of emotions designed for super clubs. It’s unsubtle, it’s unabashed, it’s unrelenting, and it wears its heart on its sleeve. It’s unmistakably a work of intent.”

Opener 'You Should' is a thrilling breakbeat tour de force that nails emotional impact and dance floor weight with impeccable craft. The title track is a colossal mind melter with throwback references to the home cinema experience of yesteryear in its samples of tape rewinds, DVD disc trays and CD disc changers, all adding a constantly rising urgency, then 'V.H.S.' brings a brutalist UK edge to proceedings with tambourine-layered and echoed dub snares making it a real bass bin workout. The powerful 'Fully Focused' builds to deliver the loudest sound you'll ever hear as Works Of Intent makes his synths scream; then there is a moment to dream on 'The Colour Of It' with its ethereal uncertainty, low-slung rhythms and epic synth washes.

Cars and motorsport have been a recurring theme in previous Works Of Intent releases and appear again here in 'Left Unseen', which has the high octane, death-defying adrenaline of rally driving perfectly transposed into a big room techno experience. 'Winning Dulls The Pain' is another cacophony of rising and descending V10 engines underpinning an ever-urgent lead, and 'Old Ways, New Mistakes' bounces boisterously with stadium-sized kick drums and synthetic mourning that will break hearts across arenas. 'Add New Ones' brings the heft of dubstep minimalism to a slower 4x4 form, and 'Dreamt I Saw You' takes fawning imaginations to lucid heights with a synth and cymbal pairing designed to get you stargazing in the club. There is an unrelenting Berlin techno drive to 'Hard Year' that peaks in a wash of cymbals and warbled melancholia before 'You Should (Reprise)' reimagines the opening cut in a more patiently building form with even more emotional impact.

‘Richer Sound’ is just the sort of expertly-crafted, genre-busting work of emotional and physical potency you would expect from such a restless nonconformist as Works Of Intent.

Lorsque votre cœur est au bon endroit, le rythme doit suivre …et ce chemin est un voyage de découverte de votre groove intérieur. Ad Vitam de son vrai nom David Martin résident en France a commencé ce voyage à l'âge de 15 ans et a commencé à être fasciné  en expérimentant les sons et la musique électronique, peu de temps après Ad Vitam à commencé à collectionner les vinyles et achète ses premières platines, une vraie révélation... le dancefloor est le prochain endroit à explorer, alors à 17 ans, il commence à mixer dans ses premières soirées organisées avec des amis, passionnés tout comme lui, puis quelques années plus tard dans des événements plus importants principalement dans le Nord-Est de la France qui est la plaque tournante de la musique électronique, et dans le Sud-Est où il a vécu 15 années ,il a appris ses compétences et perfectionné sa technique avec de grands Dj's/Producteur comme Antony Adam, Radium, Laurent Ho, Mikrob, Maxime Dangles,Heretik Crew ,et c'est tout naturellement en 2007 que Ad Vitam se tourne vers la musique assistée par ordinateur, les machines,Synthés modulaires pour composer et produire ses propres Track et maîtriser le processus créatif du début à la fin, sa musique et sa techno éclectique, très sombre et mélodique passant de la minimale,avec de grosses nappes bien planantes, de la psytrance progressive,de la deep techno, il a produit des Tracks pour le prestigieux label « Oxymor Records « (Paris)  des remix notamment pour Frequency Shift (BLC Recordings) Basic Groove, Elektron, il a une quinzaine de titres à son actif.
