The Orchard/OurMovement recording artist and song writer KING GVPSV survived a near death experience May 20th, 2009 caused by a parasite in Africa.

He witnessed the tales we have all heard of, the bright light, wading through existence, life flashing before your eyes and the eternal regret of not fulfilling one’s purpose. Two years later to the day May 20th, 2011, he was in a car accident that almost took his life again.

His conclusion was that the only things you regret in life is the things you don’t do. Its unforgivable not to live your dream. Music is his.

During his creative process, Gvpsv enters into a flow state where he composes and records his music and lyrics in real time. This freestyling allows for brutal sincerity and a self-reflexive outlook on his own journey.

An Austin native, King Gvpsv’s music is thoughtful and deep, soulful and aggressive with deep riffs and punishing grooves, confident without being arrogant, sexy without being commercialised sexuality, and always moving.

His debut single, TEARS AWAY, co-produced by The Lobby, written by King Gvpsv, was exclusively premiered on Huffington Post. TEARS AWAY, with its raw old western, grungy but EDM sound was created in only three hours. Huffington Post says, “...captivated by his voice that seemed to be a mix of Darius Rucker, Tupac Shakur, and Isaac Hayes...but the depth of his expression seemed to pierce my soul like Nina Simone.”

King Gvpsv’s music is not easily pigeonholed into one category. He describes his sound as “BluesTrap and TribeStep”. He believes DJ’s have shown the world there are no need for genres any longer and is dedicated to supporting that belief through his wide variety of genre-mashing tracks.
