Baby Come Back

The new single from Catford Gyrations will be released on 28th June 2024, and includes the first brand new material since last year's eponymous debut album.

This 2 track single is available to stream across all major platforms, and can also be downloaded via Bandcamp.

The space age electronic pop of "Land of 1000 presets" draws heavily from charity shop curios of yesteryear. Despite it's apparent analogue facade, it's an ode to how modern technology has provided access a vast library of virtual instruments that would have previously been unaffordable and taken up far too much room in my house. The track doesn't actually contain 1000 presets. It's probably more like a dozen or so, and I may have fiddled with some of the parameters.

Hollow is an exploration of the profound emptiness that follows the loss of a loved one. I hope it serves as both a tribute to those we've lost and a cathartic release for those left behind.

This song sounds like reading a diary that isn't yours. It sounds like being a fly on a wall and witnessing someone filled with melancholy alone in their bedroom. Initially, this song was created merely for sambrook.'s peace of mind and was not intended to be shared. But the immense vulnerability and gentleness of this song compelled him to release it to the world.
