Sex Of Insects share I Can Hear The Light EP to be released on the 21st of July with a single of the same name to be released on the 30th of June on Ylotana Music. Sex Of Insects career highlights include playing at the Gazgolder Club (Moscow), working with Sid Le Rock, Luke vB and Hiroshi Watanabe. 

Sex Of Insects was formed in May 2016 by guitarist, Anatoly Ylotana (Ylotana Project) and includes Alexandra Bartashevich (Vocals) and Roman Korablove (Rhythm). After meeting Alexandra Bartashevich, Anatoly knew that the project had found itself a new image thanks to her talented and original performance. Anatoly met with Roman Korablove shortly after the disappearance of their original Rhythm producer and has since been helping guide the band into a completely new sound. At its core lies a complete improvisation of guitar sounds and vocals mixed with some vibrant electronic grooves. Guaranteed uniqueness with an almost complete absence of synthesisers. Anatoly lists their influences as Frank Zappa, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath and more recently Underworld, Daft Punk and Danny Tenaglia.

Berlin-based producer, Yapacc's take on the original see's him transferring the song into a dancefloor-ready track whilst subtly maintaining the ambience of the original. Off-beat house-esque sub-rhythms and a melodic bassline helps to keep the energy of the track moving forward, whilst the top end guitars and vocals keep the listener interest up until the very last second. Russian-based Dave Pad's remix also helps the original move onto the dancefloor with this incredibly funky, groovy-laiden back beat which simultaneously manages to hold onto the original tracks esthetical ambience. Euphoric house stabs and a continuous layered texture sits behind the tracks groove, adding a sense of nostalgia and depth to an already emotive original.

It’s been a year and a half since we last saw La Fleur grace Watergate Records with a proper EP, having been featured on remix duties for Sasha’s ‘Trigonometry’ and her contribution ‘Femton’ to the celebrated 15 Years compilation.

So her brand new ‘Outbreaker’ EP arrives just in time to curb any impatience you might have waiting for her signature blend of house and techno aesthetics fused with modern production techniques that sets her apart from her peers.

La Fleur kicks things off with a wild heaving bass line and crisp, distinctive organic claps on ‘Devil Sigh’ setting the tone for the hypnotic groove that soon turns into a high energy burner of explosive bursts and an incredibly unique lead guaranteeing an absolute hit. It only gets better when one of the hottest acts on the scene, Tuff City Kids, lend their talents for a remix and turn ‘Devils Sigh’ into an analog heavy, future-retro banger that’s as different as it is the same as the original, creating a perfect alternative to the already killer original.

Wrapping things up, La Fleur takes it a little slower and deeper with ‘Outbreaker’ by utilizing lush organic percussion and washed out guitars to build a tune that will be the anthem for early mornings, open airs and beach sessions alike. We couldn’t be happier to have the first lady of Watergate back at the controls and we think you will agree.

Two artists with an innate ability in the studio, San Francisco-based DJ, producer and label owner Andrew Rasse, aka Butane, and Italian talent Riko Forinson have remained ever-present fixtures within the worlds of house and techno over the past few years. Increasingly, a regular feature of the duos output now lies in their excellent collaborations together. Following a string of releases together via a host of top-tier international imprints, the pair now makes a welcome return to Rasse’s burgeoning Extrasketch imprint in mid-June. Maybe their most polished work to date, here the pair unleashes two new fresh cuts showcasing a new side to their ever-developing sound.

With pristine drum programming and synth work to go with enchanting female vocals, both cuts deliver a slow-burning deep house sound for the summer. Opening cut ‘Sorry’ pairs a steady, classic, driving groove with floating atmospherics, while ‘Everything’ puts out a more soulful, sleazy, modern vibe. Fully realized, sonic, and mature, these vocal-led cuts are sure to get plays from peak-time, after-hours, and bedroom DJs alike. Another notch in the belt for one of the most consistent duos in underground dance music.

This new brand brings together a crew of talented artists, who share the same thoughts about House music and its way of life, creating one platform to release music that stands for quality; Classic and timeless House/Techno combined with the technical possibilities and influences of today… 

Continuously forging his own path, irrespective of any hype and what the scene is asking for, and doing everything with a passion and the will to reach his goals has made Alex Niggemann the personality he is today. Alex grew to be an established and successful DJ & producer, wanting to release music purely for lovers, for people who cut their own path, who dance just the way they feel, celebrating and being passionate about what they do without following rules and trends; the things which characterized the “rave culture” of the 90ies. 

Only two things are important - you and the music.

The debut release, ‘Just A Little’ sees Niggemann explore a chunky tech house aesthetic, precise analogue drum programming and gnarly melodies. Narrated by a late night House mantra and punctuated by full bodied synth work, ‘Just A Little’ is destined for the more discerning floors.

Bolstering the original are two well executed remixes from fellow scene stalwarts, Glimpse and Steve Bug. Poker Flat boss Bug’s mix adds a metallic shine and sleazy edge to proceedings, whilst Glimpse employs his trademark heavy set, stripped back grooves, coated in layers of gritty atmosphere and off-kilter processing.

A strong release that forms the foundations of what is set to become the go-to label for authentic House and Techno, Alex Niggemann showcases his production prowess alongside his A&R nous.
