Kicking off 2022, we are happy to announce the debut EP from italian producer & DJ Uabos. Known from his releases on Pordello A Parigi or Toytonics, Matteo Andrea Pepe (aka Uabos) delivers a stunning 3 track EP with the title „Soul On Soul“.
The EP starts impulsive, straight forward and with a catchy hook. ’Soul On Soul’ builds a bridge between Italo- Disco & modern Indie Dance. „It is a mystical trip between two lovers. It is the union of two souls, joined in a past life and now reunited. It is a circle that closes, Matteo claims.
Continuing with a travel back in time, ’M&P Frontier' is a mixture 90’s House & Rave, flavored with a splash of Euro Dance. Fittingly Uabos describes: The track goes back to my origins. It's journey throughout my life since I met electronic music... just in a new version.
Closing the EP with another top tune, that could easily also be the A-Side of this package, 'Illusion' sails mood wise in more happy waters. Though it might be less impulsive, it isn’t less catchy than the previous tunes. „Illusions are the specters that live in each of us. They are the distorted existences that we impose on ourselves. It is their frequency that makes us wake up and understand true reality.“, Uabos explains about the idea behind it.
'Illusion' is a trip between trance and Italo- Disco, another fresh tune to heat up the dance floor.

Gran canarian dj and producer David Hernandez aka Dunes, releases his second 'Escala de Grises' EP on his very own One Hour Less imprint. Spanish duo SOSANDLOW brings worldly influences to their new single on Sinchi with remixes from Andy Bros and Machinegewehr bolstering a strong EP. Artwork comes from Aboriginal artist Wayne Quilliam and all sales from this EP will be donated to the Sinchi Foundation to support Indigenous peoples.

SOSANDLOW aka Alex Sosa and D Low take inspiration from all over the musical universe and sounds as diverse as Euro-synth pop and African rhythms. Their Musica Cavernicola label has been on a permanent upward trajectory since its inception in 2017 and they hold down a celebrated residency at Tortilla Club in Madrid. They now impress on Sinchi after fine outings on the likes of Sincopat and Connected.

The sparkling 'Happy Ending' is a big disco cut with sci-fi arps and glistening synth lines. The chunky drums come with funk and swing and the chord progressions take you ever higher. It is a rich slice of brilliantly retro-future dance music.

DJ, sound engineer and producer Andy Bros has a widescreen sound that has taken him to Diynamic Music, Buttress Records and Exit Strategy. He recently toured the US and played at Art Basel in Miami and shows off his melodic side here. His leggy and serene remix is filled with retro chord vamps that will get hands in the air as the astral synth lines and upbeat drums keep the positive vibes alive.

Rotterdam's Machinegewehr is a master of dark electronic sound and mixes up electro, Italo, techno and disco on labels like correspondent, AEON and Bordello A Parigi. Here he remixes with an air of mystery
and intrigue. The spacious cosmic grooves draw you in as wispy melodies fly by and crisp hits keep things motoring onwards.

Another slice taken from Elninodiablo's latest solo effort, "Body Electric" EP, the wild and sizzling "Vaugahyde" gets thorough rework treatment from a wide-ranging array of remixers in the persons of John Tejada, Emperor Machine, Aurum Miles, Theus Mago and Matisa.

Turning the original's cucumber-fresh bounciness into a further subdued parade of ankle-breaking moves and fractalised dub tropes, John Tejada shows us how it's done and in what dextrous, intuitively genius manner. Frenzied electronic signals flex it alongside inch-perfectly programmed drums, and Tejada has us rafting across ruptured sine wave rapids and into a pulsating kaleidoscope of flickering shapes and motifs.

In the hands of Aurum Miles "Vaugahyde" morphs into pure EBM/New Beat filth, as the rhythm picks up and distorted arpeggios entangle with eerily cold vocals, casting a spell of veiled menace upon the dance floor. Getting jiggy with the more disco-friendly side of Elninodiablo's base material, Matisa reels out a proper chugging, feelgood belter of a revamp: a hi-NRG cocktail of sexed-up Chicagoan vibes, soulful vox stabs and unrelenting loops of Roulé-compatible filtered house-ism.

Theus Mago's refix opts for a more progressive yet weirdly unpredictable approach, taking "Vaugahyde" out for a ride in oddball techno territories with its heavily FX-drowned piano stabs and obsessive landslide of crisp clicks, bleeps and cracks.

Last but not least, the Emperor Machine dishes out a symphony of early computer-era P-funk grooviness, Californian beat and micro-housey experimentalism, squeezing as much disco juice out of its robotic workforce as it has you dreaming of cruising down palm trees-lined avenues in your freshly painted, bouncing low-rider. One for the outerspace Gs.

Sinchi Music unveils the seventh instalment in their Altered States series, showcasing six tracks from up-and-coming artists with unique sound palettes from across the globe. As always, the not-for-profit release sees the label support indigenous peoples worldwide via sales courtesy of the Sinchi Foundation, with artwork provided by Aboriginal artist
Wayne Quilliam.

An analogue gear head whose sound veers between electro and funk with a hint of cosmic disco, Pascal Boyer’s ‘Plastic’ featuring vocalist YA opens the package in style as the Parisian merges resonant guitar licks, escalating synths beneath alluring vocals to reveal a production full of attitude.

Debuting on DURO earlier this year, Bruce the Bat Person’s sound focuses on percussion accented by warping, hazy atmospheres. There’s no change here as he weaves a kaleidoscope of sweeping melodies and tripped-out vocals for a tumbling, twisting journey across ‘Eychedelichs’.

Based in Milan, DJ and producer Irene Radice celebrates traditional Italian music while transporting it into modern settings and giving it new life within electronic realms. Shaping immersive journeys through dreamy minimal territories to more electronic-leaning pockets to balance light and dark, ‘Rays Of Light’ featuring Cristina Mae exemplifies her signature sound as she unveils a captivating slice of vocal-led electronica.

Hive Audio, trndmsk and LNDKHN alumnus Ruben Coslada is no stranger to wide-reaching influences, having relocated from Madrid to Zürich via Nice, playing across a host of Switzerland’s illustrious clubs in Klaus, Frieda Büxe and Revier. Fusing his rock background with components from organic house through to dark disco, his diverse style brings a unique trip throughsonic spheres, exemplified by his production ‘Bittersweet Regina’.

A classically trained drummer and musician, Cafius’ compositions and productions are geared towards making dancefloors move. One of the most promising new producers amongst indie dance, Italo and EBM, ‘Synthesis’ is a pumping effort spanning cosmic tones to dark chuggy business.

Closing the show is Munich-based vagabond Alemao, whose journey through Berlin, Paris, Hamburg, Barcelona, Dublin and beyond has brought influences from Europe’s most renowned clubs. Producing music not confined by genres, ‘Discoacuerdo’ wraps up the package with authority as metallic drum shots and modulated synths guide eerie vocals to launch right into peak time hours.

When Greco-German couple Local Suicide and New York City native Curses met in Berlin, the epicenter of electronic music, their artistic chemistry was immediately obvious. This chance meeting resulted in several fructuous collaborations, with the latest being ‘Magia’, a dark and mysterious four-track EP. This release represents the perfect opportunity for the artists to take the genre-bending blend of 80’s new wave, dark disco and ghostly vocals that have earned their previous collaborations unanimous praise to a whole new level.
The EP comes after an impressively prolific year for the ever-busy Local Suicide powerhouse, following the release of their globally acclaimed debut album ‘Eros Anikate’ with collaborations with The Hidden Cameras, Lena Platonos, Theus Mago and Curses himself, as well as four remixes EPs featuring remixes by household names such as Adana Twins, Silicone Soul, Echonomist, Biesmans, Die Selektion and many more on top of a hectic touring schedule.
The multi-talented artist and head of the Ombra International label Curses also recently released his darkly romantic second album ‘Incarnadine’ with features from Jennifer Touch and Terr, following an acclaimed first album on Jennifer Cardini’s Dischi Autunno imprint. For this collaboration, he lends his distinctive sound signature that incorporates punk, Italo Disco, and EBM influences for a somber and nostalgic sound.
The EP’s title track ‘Magia’, immediately puts the listener under its spell with its dystopian atmosphere, as cold and distant voices echo eerily behind the relentless beat and unsettling looping synths, before layering up into an intense but also strangely hopeful soundscape.
The beautifully complex and moody ‘It All Sounds The Same’ then follows with its ethereal and ghostly vocals bleeding through the urgent rhythm. The alliteration of the lyrics contributes to creating an otherworldly, almost uneasy feeling echoed by the lonely voices lamenting that everything ‘sounds the same’.
The third track ‘Secret Friends’ opens up with cascading acid notes soon overtaken by the same driving beat as pulsing synths overlap each other in a frenzy while the vocals call out for a ‘secret friend’ with the seductive appeal of a mysterious, almost supernatural being.
Far from alleviating the tension that has been building up throughout the EP, the closing track, ‘Walk With Me’, feels like a frenzied and Lynchian musical descent into madness, as insistent notes become more and more distorted until they’re swallowed by the bassline and electric notes while barely human voices whisper menacingly, gasping and crossing overhead.
In true Local Suicide and Curses fashion, this EP feels like a masterfully crafted plunge into an unfamiliar world that will leave you wanting more. Tune in for the release on February 24th, 2022 via Local Suicide’s own label Iptamenos Discos.
