Maeve 09 is a special record. It welcomes the return of one of the founding members of the label, Baikal. Although the Dutchman has had somewhat of a hiatus from releasing music, his hard work and struggle with the process of creating forward thinking electronic music has always continued. “Pelican’s Flight” reaps the rewards of this carefully nurtured process and proves most definitely it was worth the wait. 

The title track “Pelican’s Flight” is a mesmerizing ten-minute techno trip. A throbbing kick drum is decorated with sparkling synth lines all moving on their own orbit creating a trance like effect on the dance floor. The pinnacle of the trip hears rasping chords blast through the swell in a glorious moment of elation; in short this is a bomb. 

The B-side “All Forces Occur In Pairs” goes deeper again, drawing the listener into a similar hypnotic state. Various sonic ideas breathe in and out of the foreground creating a swirl of expectancy and excitement. This track will cause you to close your eyes and be carried away to another dimension…

Alex Niggemann had a vision to “launch a label that mirrors diversity” . Now, in 2018, his absorbing AEON imprint celebrates five years in the business. To mark this pivotal moment, he invites a succession of celebrated AEON family members to contribute to this impressive ten track release.

The album beings with TVA’s Marechiaro . An ambient and melodic wonder that floats you into a dream-like state. Kincaid featuring Sinal provide a darker beat on Gibberish - creeping synths are complemented by a psychedelic guitar sample, whilst Trails Of Snails from Uriah Klapter creates a twisted and drone-like atmosphere. Omri Smadar takes the reigns next with his tribal drum-infused Drum Odyssey which leads into the bouncing kick of Speaking Minds & Amarcord’s Dancing Under Bright Lights, taking you on a journey deep into space. Label head Alex Niggemann continues the cosmic journey with Orion - heady bass and glitchy beats are laced with a small, harmonic synth section. This flows perfectly into the synth-led, broken-beat vibe of Third Son’s Hypernormalisation. The next offering comes from LPZ who continues with the broken-beat theme adding a crescendo of clashing cymbals on In My Mind . Echonomist delivers the penultimate track in the shape of Loosing Less a driving number with a racing and pulsating heartbeat. Radeckt closes the album on a high with Raven - a carefully crafted, playful slice of techno.

Third Son - Hypernormalisation

Milan based collective Just This present the ‘Enter The Block’ EP from label mainstays Hunter/Game due November 2nd as a digital-only release. Featured in this five-track package are two remixes from Cassegrain and Amandra.

Title track is a minimalist roller featuring subtle acid inflections and a pointillist melody. For their remix, Cassegrain morph the unfurling hypnotism of the original into something more twisted, punctuating its cyclic nature with drawn out tones and frenetic rhythms.

‘Second Floor’ is an exercise in restraint, slowly building around one motif that swirls in and out of focus above stripped back percussion. Amandra provides an unexpectedly angular interpretation for his remix, repurposing the original into a molecular structure of atonal textures driven forwards by marching percussion.

Closing off the EP, ‘Explore’ revolves around a tiny, glistening melody, teetering on the edge of something bigger in a way that builds a brooding tension.

Last summer we started our sub-label DUAT Moving Pictures just to release movie scores and we started the project with the soundtrack of the Netflix movie "Kidnapping Stella" by Michael Kamm. The idea was, to get those cinematic songs remixed by various electronic music artists and release that interpretation on our mother techno label DUAT. This is the first chapter with great works by Vril, Anja Zaube, Amin Fallaha and R100, available on Vinyl and digital.

Milan-based collective Just This are proud to present ​X​ - a compilation celebrating ten years at the outer reaches of ambient, melodic techno. Featuring contributions from Just This family and friends, the twenty-track release will be available July 10.

Since launching in 2010 as an event series, Just This has grown to function as a record label and collective governed by community spirit and a mutual interest in the more abstract spheres of techno. Having presented over thirty releases across a ten year period, they have worked with an extensive list of acclaimed artists at the vanguard of electronic music.

Following their success as one of the first parties in Italy to book more melodic strains of techno, the collective has retained a commitment to bringing abstract sonic explorations to a wider audience. As one of the first to host artists like Tale Of Us in Milan, the Just This parties expanded to curate events across Europe and beyond, bringing with them a number of artists whose careers have since skyrocketed.

With this compilation, they celebrate the wide range of aesthetic pursuits that have underscored their intentions from the start. Tense atmospherics and murky frequencies are offset with crystalline ambient wanderings and brief moments of euphoria. Spatial manipulations carve new sonic frontiers as the boundaries between psychedelia and lucidity blur into abstract forms. At times rough, at others meditative, the compilation is underscored by a shared aesthetic belief in the weird and wonderful.

X​ includes tracks from ​Hunter/Game, Mind Against, Extrawelt, Eduardo De La Calle, Alex Smoke, Sterac, Yotam Avni ​and​ Woo York,​ amongst many others, and functions as both a celebration of the collective, and a testament to the value of community and collaboration.
