A song about the northern lights and their mysterious appearance in unusual circumstances a long, long time ago...

I hear the cries of winter I cant stand to see the sight
Like waves they came crashing but now lie  still there in the night

Its far too late for many lying on once peaceful land
I wonder who if any fell directly by my hand

The morning brings a shiver as I lay behind the  wall
But I cant stay much longer as I hear the fallen call.

Shadows cast by the setting sun another days work is done
Close my eyes but I can't sleep through the long cold night

I feel the light burning in my eyes as I gaze at the distant sky
All around me I can see the northern lights.

It's a song about the painful truth that even the deepest love can be buried under the weight of time, mistakes, and things left unsaid. With no anger, only sorrow, the narrator offers one last, simple truth: they loved fully, they tried, and they are sorry it wasn't enough. It's a farewell wrapped in regret, gratitude, and a quiet, devastating kind of grace.

First, I would like to say thank you for reading this. That means that you liked my songs enough to see what I’m about. That means a lot to me.
I’m a working man and a family man. The years digging ditches and breaking my back to put food on the table, has given me enough ammo to write a song or two. I like to write songs about real life with all of its struggles, beauty and grit…

In this digital age of perfect music I'm trying to leave the human imperfections in the tracks. Most parts are done straight through with no splices. A missed note or chord here or there, bit out of time...trying to keep it raw. Maybe I go too far sometimes?
