This week´s AMFM is the third hour of a 7 h set that I played in a very special location. The club is called Distillery and is in Leipzig Germany. It is the longest running club that I have played at in my DJ career. My first gig there was part of the Harthouse 100 Tour in September 1996. The club has an upstairs floor and a downstairs basement floor. The basement is the smaller of both floors and that was the one I got to play in 1996. Since the club now goes into its final year, I wanted to once more play in the basement, so I did an all night long set on May 25th 2022. I started at midnight and ended shortly after 7 in the morning, playing quite a few classics as well. Sadly, due to a technical issue, I didn't manage to save a tracklist, so I appreciate any help that I can get with that in the comments from all of you! (Well I know what I played, it is just quite a lot of work to reconstruct that...) I hope you enjoy this whole set, it was very special to me and quite emotional at times, as I had loads of great memories popping up during my time down there, from all the amazing times that I got to have in this fantastic venue over the years. A big thanks goes out to the whole crew of the club, especially to Steffen, who has been running this place passionately since the beginning and is currently preparing the move into a new location by January 2023. Once more this is a reminder, how important the club scene is for our music and that we all should always support our local clubs. In the end they are the foundation for the music, for the resident DJs and for the crowd that enjoys a good time together. We would be nowhere without those kind of clubs run by passionate people for so many years. Long live Distillery Leipzig!

This week´s AMFM is the fifth hour of a 6h set that I played at Concrete, Paris on September 23rd 2016. The Concrete Club was on a Boat (barge) on the river Seine in the middle of beautiful Paris. The crew behind Concrete is one of the most wonderful bunch of promoters I have ever met and it showed in what they had created with this club. I always loved to play long sets there, I think my longest one was 10h (I think I might even released that set as another AMFM show). And I also always loved to open up the night, as I did in this case, hence the beginning of the set. In the background you can hear the people entering the club, directly aiming for the dance floor and ready for whatever there is to come. Talking about the audience, those at Concrete were some of the most open minded and ready to party people I have encountered in my career. Sometimes a DJ would be playing Drum and Bass before you, sometimes House… anything good and the crowd had a good time, I loved that atmosphere. Also it always was very intimate, with a no picture policy, you as a DJ were basically standing right in front, smiling, dancing and laughing along with this amazingly diverse crowd. And all that essentially in the middle of Paris. I really miss this place and put it up there with cult clubs that have sadly closed their doors forever, like Output, Omen and so on. Concrete closed its doors for good end of July 2019 due to issues with the owner of the barge. It will be forever missed, but the crew behind Concrete is still busy and I am sure one day we will have a new amazing place created by them for us to party at. Until then, we have those memories… and recordings. Enjoy.
