Ry Cooder is one of the greatest slide players of all time and one of my heroes. Although I play lap style slide, not bottleneck like Ry  does, I've done my best to evoke the spirit of this haunting piece of music. Soundtrack from the movie Paris, Texas

My brother Johnny and I used to talk for hours about music and trade guitar licks with each other. This tune mimics the back and forth conversation, the different views and inevitable harmony. Happy times.

A composition for A6 steel guitar, played on an acoustic 8 string resonator. Dedicated to the late Billy Tonnesen, a cool cat and a generous man.

Walking The Cat

An attempt at playing the lapsteel guitar on a melody I always loved to a Gypsy Jazz guitar backing track. Trying out the Origin Effects Sliderig Compressor...wonderful sustain without completely suffocating the signal...plus Strymon Big Sky and Timeline for ambience and Ernie Ball VP Junior volume pedal for swells.
