Last February we dropped LOW001, aka Low End Therapy Vol. 1, the inaugural V.A. EP, and well… thanks for the amazing airwaves & online support (BBC1, Rinse fm, Rinse France, Groove Mag) and irl club spins. Big ups to Martha, Flore, Ehua, Ila Brugal, Ian DPM & Wager, Chewlie, Dog Patrol, and all of youse DJs for spreading the sound ❤️

This spring and summer we ran the LET artist development programme for FLINTA producers and vocalists, where we took a bunch of budding artists to record bangers in the studio 👀

And now Low End Therapy is back in its label form: presenting you today with LOW002 aka “Minor Details” the new EP from Bristol native, former Vietnam resident, Berlin based producer Insomniast! @insomniast-be
The EP is urgent, ominous, bass heavy, and just feels right for the dance.

“Minor Details EP” is a selection of tracks that seem like they wrote themselves. The EP name reflects the process of finishing the music, which consisted in polishing only minor details.
The EP ranges across the 130 - 145 bpm spectrum. At times it’s dark, dubbed out and trippy like “Without U”. “The Only One” is playful with a grimy bounce which lightens up the general menacing vibe of the EP. “No Filter” goes raw and fast: no BS, just full energy. “What It Takes” closes the EP by helping us land gently in groovy and sultry territories.

Private Press - Part Two [AERA022]

Alex Ross is a producer and DJ from Glasgow, previously based in Aberdeen, where he became a part of the MELD collective and is behind the creation of the MELD label.

His synth-laden track "Ambivert" combines 808s with rising pads, following the groove and rhythm found in an archetypal electro track but with a conversely uplifting set of chords to match.

Their journey had taken them to the bottom of a huge range of towering mountains, each covered in a thick glistening blanket of snow. They began the steady incline up the nearest and smallest mountain, eager to find out what lay at the top. The air around was fresh and crisp, making it the perfect conditions to ascend the slopes. But as they made their move, a force stopped them in their tracks. An invisible field that they couldn't cross. They were stuck at the foothills.

Belgian producer Placid One lands on Shaw Cuts with his Heroes Of The East EP, a story of love, pride and rivalry. This marks his third EP, following releases on Ransom Note Records and Nebulae, and sees him dive head first into pulsating drums, bright pads and menacing soundscapes.

It’s Belgium vs. Malta for the second split EP on Gated, with Datawave’s tough take on electro kicking off the A side and Sound Synthesis’s cosmic machine music on the B.

Both producers are currently making waves with numerous releases on labels like Fundamental and Nebulae, with their complementary yet distinct styles of electro brought together for the first time.

Perhaps the most obviously peaktime track, Datawave’s Pulsar sounds immense, with a wriggling bassline and cracking drums that’ll cut through on a system.

Breach Out takes things darker and deeper, with gnarly and hypnotic synths leading you on some tripped out journey into a dystopic future.

Sound Synthesis, meanwhile, lightens the mood with Lost in Orbit, but retains that sense of moving into the future. Except this time it’s somewhere beyond the stars.

That said, EP-closer MH System is the kind of classic 4am stomper every DJ needs, with a low-slung bassline and spaced-out samples guaranteed to keep the floor moving.
