Any artist is welcome to send us a track via freshonthenet.co.uk anytime between Monday lunchtime and Thursday morning (or when we receive 200 submissions, whichever is sooner) - and all our moderators, including Tom Robinson, will listen to every track. This is our full inbox from the week beginning Mon 1st February: from Friday afternoon you'll be able to hear our shortlist and pick your favourites on this week's Listening Post which will appear at freshonthenet.co.uk/batch393

If a track you submitted does not appear in this list, it’s probably because another of your tracks appeared in our Fresh Faves or on the BBC Music Introducing Mixtape during the last three months — we ask that artists featured on either wait three months before resubmitting to give others a chance. We also don’t accept short previews or SoundCloud GO tracks that can only be heard as 30 second previews, and tracks made private after submission, which cannot be included in playlists. How Often?

Lord and the Woolf is made up of a pair of rascals from the North West of England - Joe Woolf and Sam Lord. 

After previously touring with bands ‘Chappaqua Wrestling, ‘Aquilo’, ’LOWES’, and ‘Shy Luv’, Sam and Joe decided to start their own project. With Joe conveniently being a producer they took to his studio to hone and create their own unique style and sound. Their studio writing process and attention to detail spawned a dense and interesting production aesthetic, resembling the likes of ‘Alt-J’, ‘Bombay Bicycle club’ and ‘Tame Impala.’ 

Following two previous singles including the euphoric ‘Etta’s Game’, this month will mark the release of their 3rd single ‘Young’ alongside a music video.

‘Young’ carries a narrative which highlights youthful lust and love, and how it can harness the power to distort our moral compass. At a point in everyone’s life, they must make a choice to either leave or stay in a life defining moment.

Young is out on Friday 29th January
January 29th 2021 marks the release of their 3rd single ‘Young’ complete with a debut music video. ‘Young’ carries a narrative which highlights young lust and love and how it can harness the power to distort our moral compass. At a point in everyone’s life, they must make a choice to either leave or stay in a situation and this is exactly what our main character goes through.

Lost Without Your Light' is a song written by our lead singer-songwriter Eileen. There is a very personal story behind this but generally it's about longing for peace for a troubled mind.

Lost Without Your Light

A Falling Robin are UK group split between Wigan and Newcastle, via Belfast and Leeds, who write and record their own music. The nucleus of the band are the two main songwriters and singers, Rachel Darling and Robin d Bailey. A-chance meeting on Soundcloud after Robin heard Rachels original songs, and vice versa, resulted in a mutual respect and appreciation for each others sound and songwriting. A partnership that has now evolved into quite a unique sound with some very emotionally laden songs produced. We have been played on BBC Lancs, BBC Merseyside and BBC6 music. We suspect Kate Bush and Bob Dylan listen to us, however we know they would never say...
