Darren Smith has been a composer, and performer of electronic music for the past 16 years. Under the nom de plume , Darren has been a regular fixture on the Australian 'doof' circuit. Having earned a reputation for creating emotional, melodic psychedelic trance. 

After taking a step back from the world of dancefloor music to focus on downtempo electronic music the project 'mote.' emerged; a collage of ambient, glitchy breakbeats, squelchy melodies, ethnic vibrations and orchestral oscillations. 

As mote and Reality Pixie Darren has performed throughout Australia and Europe, performing shows at events such as Rainbow Serpent, Ozora, Lost Theory and Freqs of Nature.
