Unfortunately, once the vampire element is introduced, Abigail's potential for being an interesting character diminishes. The vampires and their victims bite each other, resulting in blood splatters and everyone being drenched in blood, guts, and gore. It's not something I personally want to witness, but there is a market for these types of movies, which is why they continue to be made, even if they are dull and lifeless.
