Ambassador Nkengasong discussed U.S. support for the global response to the clade I mpox outbreak. The U.S. government has been closely monitoring the spread of clade I mpox in Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and the growing number of cases in the region, and we have been working closely with the affected country governments, as well as regional and global health partners, to reduce the impact of this outbreak. After brief opening remarks on the U.S. response, the Ambassador took questions from participating journalists.
