Glasgow African Balafon Orchestra (GABO) is delighted to present their sophomore album ‘Lift’, the follow up to their acclaimed debut LP ‘Jungle Fever’.

Lift was recorded following the band’s glorious performance at Glastonbury Festival 2022. Inspired and refreshed by a summer of festivals, music and new connections the orchestra arrived at Dystopia Recording Studio with a revitalised Ambatarian vigour.

The ten songs on the album present exciting stories and folktales of Sissala treats, conundrums, ceremonies, expeditions, drama and challenges which may all become pertinent and useful to anyone who listens.

Furthermore the musical prowess of Lift draws the listener deep into their world of West African tradition whilst showcasing some of Glasgow’s finest emerging musicians.
