AfroZep is a collective of musicians that perform original arrangements of Led Zeppelin songs with African influences. 
First formed in 2009 by Chicago percussionist Marshall Greenhouse the group has toured coast to coast playing festivals, venues, schools. 

Having covered both Houses of Holy and Led Zeppelin II in their entirety the band has an extensive setlist of Led Zeppelin songs as well as tunes by artists like Fela Kuti, Mulatu Astatke and Tinariwen among other African music superstars.

Grammy-nominated indie-pop band Lucius released their highly anticipated new self-titled album on May 2 via Fantasy Records—their most personal and purposeful work to date. Their fourth studio album, Lucius finds the band returning to their roots with eleven new songs written and recorded without seeking outside influence—their first time doing so since their 2013 debut. Produced by Lucius’ Dan Molad, the record explores topics such as relationships, grief and life’s complexities, with a unique vulnerability only made possible due the familial nature of the band. Known for their engaging live performances, Lucius has been featured on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” PBS’ “Austin City Limits” and “The Kelly Clarkson Show" and has toured across the world. This spring, the group will return to the road with their extensive “Gold Rush Tour." Throughout their acclaimed career, Lucius’ Holly Laessig and Jess Wolfe have also become some of the most sought-after collaborators in popular music due to their “otherworldly” vocals (Los Angeles Times). The duo has recorded and performed with artists such as Joni Mitchell, Brandi Carlile, John Legend, The Killers and Harry Styles, including appearances on the Grammy stage and NBC’s “Saturday Night Live.” Lucius is Laessig, Wolfe, Molad and Peter Lalish.

Difficult to pinpoint stylistically, Animal Holograms are an elusive trio. High intensity, complex songs are balanced out by hypnotic, minimalist pieces often carried by Arabic and African based rhythms.

Leading off with the high energy number "Black Cats" Williams pushes the envelope between art rock and indie pop with a healthy dose of noise driven guitar chaos. The captivating feel of "Psychoasis" carry things on an atmospheric whirlwind that channels the spirits of Mercury Rev and The Flaming Lips while the synth drenched sounds of "Ferdinand Hodler" give way to an upbeat yet overall darker tone. It's a brilliant balance of both moody and uplifting territory. This mood continues with the dirge like grind of "Hello Mr. Dark" which at some point moves into a delightful realm of shoegaze bliss. Things wind down as the lulling presence of "The World Is Math" cap everything off with a collection of highly experimental textures that reverberate inside your mind . A beautiful collection of psychedelic dream pop wizardry."

"Animal Holograms back up their stylish shoegazer tunes with some real muscle. A delectable saunter is developed in the tempo that carries the reach of everything across commendably. It is in these statures that the depth of tone is developed. Lingering qualities in the tempo follow a formulaic approach that is exacted with originality. As a result a due course falls across the causality of the tone neatly but also drives the worth of the tracking through in the meandering of the drift on show. Other tunes seem to grab the momentum when required. That sees a leaner calling answered in terms of how everything then sounds. In the operation of everything there is a mastery that truly gets to grips with the task at hand. What you get with this band is something that is very much on the proverbial money with the disenfranchised underground feel that permeates in the music."

"Somewhere between the vocal stylings of Marc Bolan and Elliott Smith, Jason Williams’ voice is a hypnotic and understated element of Animal Holograms, a Chicago-based trio with a dreamily loose sound that blends shoegaze and dream-pop. What started as a solo project of Williams’ evolved into a trio consisting of Nick Biscardi and Jesse Askren. Now, Animal Holograms have their debut full-length - í sólina – slated for a May release. Judging by already-released tracks like ”lengi nætur”, listeners could be in for something special.

Starting with a progression that resembles both spacious post-rock and spaghetti-western nonchalance, ”lengi nætur” immediately shows Animal Holograms’ knack for atmosphere. Williams’ ghostly croon creeps in over the passive percussion and murmuring guitars, while an organ emerges as a bridge to a successfully clanky hook that is capped off by an elongated guitar solo. Much of the lyrics throughout the track are obscured somewhat by the gently involved production, which surely takes a cue from shoegaze. The actual instrumentation is more in the vein of post-punk and alternative, with a touch of glam-rock’s moodier bits. ”lengi nætur” is a great entry for listeners, as are tracks like ”halló dökk mín”."
