Ein verspieltes Pfeifen aus Amsterdam lädt uns zu einer bouncige Reise durch die letzten kalten Wintertage ein. Vollgepackt mit souligen Vocals und deepem Upbeat versprüht der Traumcast Nr. 37 von Franca den Geschmack von eiskaltem Aperol Spritz und den Glanz von warmer Sommersonne. Wir träumen uns auf die kommenden Open-Air- und Festival-Nächte und entlassen Euch zum Podcast mit drei schnellen Fragen an Franca (@francaplays):

1. Du hast gerade einige Zeit in Australien verbracht. Was magst du an dem Land besonders gern und warum?

💫 Australien ist nicht nur wunderschön sondern vor allem wahnsinnig freundlich. Die aufrichtige Warmherzigkeit der Menschen im täglichen Umgang tut gut! Ausserdem ist es soweit weg von allem, das es sich hier bisschen anfühlt wir „Urlaub von der Welt“. Das ist, zumindest für eine gewisse Zeit, sehr erholsam. 

2. Wenn du in der Zeit zurückreisen könntest, in welches Jahrzehnt oder welche Ära würdest du reisen und warum?

💫 Definitiv in die 60/70er wegen den Unmengen an guter Musik die in der Zeit enstand! Oder auch gerne in die 20er für den guten Style und literweise Absinth.

3. Wenn du bei einer Veranstaltung weltweit auftreten könntest, welche wäre es und warum?

💫 Universo Paralello in Brasilien reizt mich sehr! Da ist einfach ein starkes Bauchgefühl das ich mich dort sehr wohlfühlen würde und meine Musik dort gut hinpasst. Shout out to Brazil!

The duck was awake again (for a long time)! In our eyes, Sisyphos is one of the best clubs in the world, and for years we've enjoyed visiting friends there. All the more reason for us to give you a little insight into the hallowed halls of Dampfer. Let @nicorus and @doron-plazmalab take you away, and bash away!

✔️ What are your musical influences and backgrounds?

*Doron:
Influenced by the Berlin club scene over the last 15 years, but always with the footprint of his Israeli roots and the feeling of desert and nature. Doron connects mind and body with his narrative sound. With a background of rock and gothic music, he was infected with electronic and psychedelic music at his first outdoor party in the southern sands of the Israeli desert in the early 90s. Since then he has been collecting and experimenting with all kinds of electronic genres and has been active as a DJ and promoter for more than two decades.

*Nicorus:
My influences are as diverse as music genres in general. But I have a focus on electronic music and rock music. I listened to a lot of grunge, metal and punk as a kid, but also a lot of drum n bass, hip hop, reggae and dub as a teenager. Bands like Nirvana, Nofx, High tone or Asian dub Foundation lulled me to sleep.

✔️ What do you think makes a good afterhour?

*Doron:

For me, a good afterhour is first and foremost the right music, the sound that gives you the energy to stay on the dance floor after a long sleepless night, enriched with atmospheric, uplifting, melodic harmonies and slow, groovy beats.

*Nicorus:
A good afterhour is above all an unlikely place and/or the perfect mix of people. Of course, the music shouldn't be too hard or too fast, but also not too slow, otherwise you'll run out of energy and fall asleep. It's all a question of dosage ;)

✔️ What thoughts would you like to give us about your mix?

*Doron:
... I was very excited at the beginning, it was the first time for me to play at Sisyphos and the first time ever to play B2B with my mate Nicorus, although our sound styles are a bit different there was a great harmonic musical flow between us, we definitely had a lot of fun and I think we did a great job.

*Nicorus:
This mix is special because it's a gift to my pot Doron, but also a meeting between two worlds. Doron, more in detail, dream and subtlety, and me more on the energetic and expressive side. An encounter that was a perfect fit.

✍️ Irgendwo sind wir alle nur Reisende. Ziehen unsere Kreise durch die Universen und Galaxien dieser Dimension. Suchen nach dem Sinn und treffen auf andere, umherziehende Seelen. Diese Leben gleicht einem Spiel, in welchem wir vergessen haben, dass wir die Spieler sind. Manchmal gibt es Lichtblicke. Durchscheinende Momente in denen wir uns erinnern, wer bzw. was wir wirklich sind. Solche Augenblicke sind wunderschön und noch schöner ist es, wenn wir sie mit anderen teilen dürfen. 

🎵  Der heutige Podcast ist ein Live Recording von der Feuerstarterin Diladï. Das Set entstand im Freudentaumel in der Renate. Wieder einmal teilt die waschechte Berlinerin ihr kreatives Können und den Spaß am auflegen mit uns. Dieses Set ist ein liebevolles Miteinander unterschiedlicher musikalischer Style Richtungen. Afterhour Sounds is since his begining in 2012 a crew of music lovers, music makers and music supporters. What started as an small idea developed over the years into an important institution in the field of electronic dance in and beyond germany. Our goal was and still is to enrich the world with different interpretations of the afterhour. 

In the beginning, we focused our passion on finding and supporting (un)known artists through blog posts, reposts and podcast contributions. Gradually, we expanded our sections to include live recordings and premieres. In-house releases and events were not long in coming. The crew changed, but the passion and spirit remained.
