Last Gentleman On Playa is back on his record label, It's Good To Be A Tree, with a delightful organic house release, which also features remixes by Betelgeize and Waxwood.
Well-known as a Burning Man regular, Last Gentleman On Playa is a respected producer and well-traveled DJ. His innovative mid-tempo style combines charming melodies and organic sounds with tribal drums.
On remix duty Waxwood has an atmospheric style of downtempo organic house that infuses jazz instrumentation. He has previously featured on It's Good To Be A Tree alongside other imprints such as Cafe De Anatolia, • kosa •, and Shango Records.
The EP's title track, "Bagus" has mystical flutes and vocals about aboriginal cultures layered over a chugging synth bass with acid tones. Waxwood adds some funk to his version with a new bassline that is layered with a jazz piano and vocal sample about blues music.
