Modern trance has become boring and unimaginative, the same artists producing the same old sounds.  Once great trance producers making cheesy tunes that appeal to the lowest common denominator.  Trance didn't used to be like that, when it began it was forward thinking, constantly evolving.  Trance needs to go back and discover that.

Luckily there are now producers out there that are taking trance back to it's beautiful hypnotic roots.  Here is a mix to showcase some of  t those artists out there producing interesting and forward thinking trance.  This is pure, hypnotic trance.

ISOLATE presents part 2 of their compilation series Mutations VI, featuring tracks by Auggië and Yoram.

Auggië's "Five Gorilla" is a masterclass in melodic playfulness and rhythmical complexity. The tune creates a maze-like soundscape for listeners by fusing together various parts in a nearly hypnotizing way.

* Polivoks VCF resonant and modulated via Toolbox sine LFO
* Polivoks VCF and Fusion Ringmod into a dual, summed VCA with 2 different EGs

Mono "ping" (on top of "robot glitch"):
