After listening to my track ‚Trickle’ which was written in 5/4 earlier this year, my friend Atik Yomin  (@othiqivmin) „challenged“ me to write an album consisting of tracks in odd meters only. Challenge accepted. This piece comes in ..., well, can you figure it out?

This track was recorded in a single run straight from a modular patch. No post processing apart from a bit of compression.
Some patch notes:
The "bass" is Three Body into one channel of Ar Merc'het Brao (distorted part coming from nRings output into sync of one of the oscillators) then to FX Aid (pitch shifter algo)
Strings coming from nRings into another channel of Ar Merc'het Brao
Lead is Crüinn into Eon Procyon
Drums from Modbap Trinity
Sequences from KeyStep 37 and Westlicht Performer
Final mix to RAS Bonkers for some saturation and modulated feedback

This is another track that was created in one take without any further arrangement. The new sounds come from the Dave Smith Prophet Rev2, which is hooked to a modular system, which is able to follow pitch and derive phrases from it. 

make noise XPO is creating the bass line via pitch information sent to the rev2. 

beats come from Roland Tr8s. Melody is improvised with Arturia Microfreak. Make noise morphagene is playing a sample, which was auto tuned in Ableton.

all mixing was done live on a Tascam model 12 and simply exported to a stereo mix. Ableton was only uses for EQ and compression on the stereo mix.

I thought I'd set a challenge for myself while learning the Intellijel Atlantix by making a track with 100% sounds created with the module. From percussion, bass, pads, and chords, to textural effects, everything was created with the Atlantix and recorded into Ableton where I layered sounds and built out an arrangement. 

Added some slight compression and reverb/delay to certain tracks using Valhalla Delay, VintageVerb, and FutureVerb.

I'll take another pass at this track to sub out some sounds — particularly the chords, as I don't like how they sit in the mix, and sequencing and recording each note of the chord individually and layering in Ableton was a faff.

Overall, enjoyed the experiment and learnt a lot about what the Atlantix is capable of! Constraints breed creativity.

Inspiration: 70s to 90s altrock, 80s new wave, nostalgic lofi recordings and cheesy outdated music from the 50s and 60s.

Dorian's first and only gig took place at a closed playground, where a shady intergalactic convention of evil overlords took place. (True story, obviously they were not quite right in the head.) Ever since, Dorian decided to remain a cozy stay-at-home rock star.

Kollektiv Schwarzer Bär are two electronic music lovers who have lived for years at the Schwarzer Bär in beautiful Linden and have been influenced by the electro scene in Hannover.

We grew up with electronic sounds and have been familiar with them for 30 years. Now, with this project, we want to bring people closer to this wonderful music and its different styles. Short mix sets will be presented here on a regular basis to give even the not so expert an overview for any mood . We are very happy about comments and feedback to get this small project more and more to flourish .

all songs are performed and recorded in one take (mostly on my Tascam model 12). 

my approach is based around a modular synthesiser ( 2x Arturia rackbrute 6U with a total of 352 HP) mounted onto a Arturia Minibrute 2s. polyphony / paraphony comes from Dave Smith Prophet rev2, Arturia Microfreak and Op1 field. for effects pedals I use endorphins golden master and chroma Console from Hologram electronics.
