Like many indigenous groups in Brazil, the Bororo people have faced various challenges and threats to their way of life, including land encroachment, deforestation, and cultural assimilation. However, they have also been actively engaged in efforts to preserve their cultural heritage and protect their ancestral lands

The name Shambala is inspired by the Tibetan Buddhist mythical celestial place of peace, silence, and radiant joy.
