Oliver Huntemann always delivers - especially on his own Senso imprint. After two decades at the forefront of the European scene, to see his name on a record gua- rantees deep and deeply accomplished techno with a precise, refined production and high-definition details.
Both tunes on this double-header live up to the billing. 'Pech' is a masterclass in the selection and combination of tone, texture and the thoughtful treatments applied to them. A long two-minute build paves the way for a sustained bass tone that teases the listener with well-timed pitch bends. Elements unfold and flower organically as the tune reaches its climax of dancing synth lines.
'Schwefel' takes a voyage into more eerie territory, full of echo and distant music- box pings. Huntemann balances these delicate melodic sounds with gritty synth repetitions that finally win the day to deliver a surging, stirring and deeply memo- rable roller.

expanding the Afterlife totality into a label. The label and events will complement each other with one
aim; to bring the crowd into another dimension of music perception with enthralling production to that
ignite the senses.
The ‘Realm Of Consciousness’ voyage commences with Tale Of Us’ Lies - a fitting introduction with
quivering keys and restrained percussion that engenders an ominous suspense ahead of Monoloc’s
enigmatic industrial techno crunch, Phoenix. Shifting through the haunting chords of Recondite’s dynamic
Murphy’s Law, to the brooding synth of Poseidon by Ukrainian duo Woo York, the realisation of Afterlife
utopia is upon us. The repetitive, mesmerising synth and effective reverb that Somne creates with Triangle
is an odyssey within itself. From there, John Hester’s expertly woven ‘Logan’ is a feverish techno stab that
transverses through the emotional senses, transitioning to Locked Groove’s adroitly crafted Emeralds, to
Ryan James Ford’s ambient, albeit percussive, techno cut Toree Bahrstad. Die Wiederkehr is the outcome
of Obscure Shape & SHDW’s collaboration, which incorporates facets of techno and trance that have
been shaped with real guile and finesse. Mind Against round off the compilation with Gravity - a
mystifying ambience and a fitting title as we touch back down to planet earth.

Worst Case aka Tony Casanova & Joshua Jesse's “Rocket” EP comes at us with two hard hitting originals and three reworks anchoring on the talents of some of the finest producers around at the moment.

“Rocket” opens up swiftly with an effervescent bustle, as the groove is slowly built up through ascending synth leads. The ear catching leit-motif though is an insurgent guitar sample, reminiscent of 70s power solos. Despite the overall oldschool flavour of the track, we’re quickly reintroduced to present day soundscapes, as we reach its peak point. Surprisingly enough, the tension is smoothly resolved and the original dynamic is reverted.

Centered on a setup of layered vocals, “General Opinion” offers an upbeat groove from the get go, bolstered by a carefully crafted array of ascending whizzes, tribal roars and clattering bells. Distant cut-outs of the vocals create a spacious and relaxed outro, unwinding to a full stop.

US sound traveler Clint Steward revamps “Rocket”, building up anticipation through percussive slabs. Promptly triggered cavernous bass snippets enthrall and intrigue, as the ambiance morphs into that of an otherwordly sonic journey.

Niko Schwind injects his trademark oomph, giving “Rocket” some extra boost. Balancing sharp chops with subversive synth detonations, the piece gains even more fire to fuel the dancefloor.
From the other side of the globe, Aussie Murat Kilic reshapes the audio storyline in “General Opinion” to a progressive, uplifting affair peppered with sunken ringers. Still playing upon a vocal sample from the original cut, the track shows off a jagged edge, displaying a deeper and darker version rendition of the latter.

The talented DJ and Producer ShoSho has appeared on Set About,Toolroom, Material, Trapez ltd, Deeperfect, and now lands at New Violence armed with a sturdy 4 track EP, and ready to cause some mayhem.

We start procedding with 'Heroic' with its big drums, spoken vocals and chugged up bass on steroids, all wrapped up in a fierce set of drums that fire this one along with vigour. A dancefloor winner!

Up next we find 'La Pedrera', which beautifully blends the techier edge of things, with warmer and rounded synthy melodics which culminates in a bit of a winner.

'Cumba' keeps things pacey, as we plough forward meaning business. Big low end, cool percussion, trippy fx, clever vocal samples all layered nicely along this little journey, whilst still packing a mighty punch. The breakdown is a swirling bed of sounds, shrouded in a tripped out dreamlike phase before slamming back in to action.

And to round things off, its 'Da Bolkan' and its a no nonsense tech house slab of solidness, full of swagger that sets us up nicely. Add an unexpected pan-pipe line in the drop, some trippy fx and some cleverly layered subtle percussion, and we're just about there.

With recent releases for some of the scene’s leading labels, Fideles (aka Daniele Aprile and Mario Roberti) are an Italian duo on the rise. Their spellbinding ‘Impressum’ EP is both a fine example of the Fideles sound and exactly in keeping with the direction Tale Of Us are steering their Afterlife label. Inspired by the Ionian sea in Southern Italy, low-pitched basslines and soaring synths give the tracks just the right amount of drama, whilst the rich sound-design allows them to make the most of a big system; something Tale Of Us have put to great use in their sets this year. Take the emotionally-charged title track, the rolling, mechanical drums of ‘Kalotypse’ or the more restrained ‘Hadar’. Across all five tracks Fideles’ character shines through the adventurous melodies and distinctive touch, creating an inspiring next episode of the Afterlife catalogue.

Agents Of Time is the project of Andrea Di Ceglie and Luigi Tutolo. A revered two­man live act, DJs and masters of their sound in the studio. 
Since starting their journey together as Agents Of Time, the two Italians have combined their talents and shared influences to become a globally in­demand dance act, releasing on a number of leading labels along the way. A much­loved debut 12” on Correspondent in 2014, ‘Polina’, marked them out as an exciting new name in the realm of emotional, melodic techno and kickstarted their touring career. 
A hardware­heavy, improvisational live set spanning house, techno and acid is at the heart of what they do. The two members perform around a square table, facing each other, translating a symbiotic energy through the machines and communicating through instinct and gesture. A complex, unique and unpredictable dance between human minds and analog equipment that invariably creates moments of magic. Their live set was partly inspired by an expert of the craft in Mathew Jonson, and it is telling of Agents Of Time’s success that they now count Jonson as a collaborator. ‘Repeating Patterns, Numbers and Letters’, Agents Of Time’s first studio collaboration with Jonson came out in March 2019, following live shows together at Rex Club (Paris) and Movement Festival (Torino). 
The adventurous spirit and heady sound palette is channeled into house, techno and more obscure selections. 
Their work in the studio is a free­flowing ritual, an extension of what they do on stage. ‘Spread The Word’, their debut album came out Stem Records in 2014 and was followed by hit EPs for Maceo Plex’s Ellum Audio, their own label Obscura and Curle Recordings. A relationship with Tale Of Us and multiple appearances at Afterlife events has also led to Agents Of Time signing to Afterlife with the stunning ‘Dream Vision’ EP and 'Paradigm' on the Realm Of Consciousness compilation. 

The Agents Of Time are taking careful steps and showing themselves to be gifted, versatile performers with each one. Whether on record, on stage or at an any event, count on a high­quality output, finely balanced between experimentation and a straight dancefloor vibe.
