Uto Karem Presents Best of 2015

The boss is getting remixed by the cream of the Techno crop, while his original mix overflows with juicy sub-bass as it holds the claustrophobic vibe down. Cristian Varela is up first, and lightens things up with a two-step bassline and a percussion-led rhythm section. Dema takes it from there and treats us to a heads-down groover, complete with streamlined synths and tasty chord action. The Filterheadz remix seals the deal and their rendition boasts light tribal sensibilities as immense FX washes take control and busy drum edits keep the suspense level high.

Uto Karem - Pushing Forward (Original Mix)

We welcome Landmark to Agile as he treats us to the rocksteady groove of &#8220;Dis&#8221;, led by a simple, addictive riff and classy synths which propel the affair to the next level.&nbsp; &#8220;I Want&#8221; picks up from there and offers a dubbier approach and cavernous vibe, letting the grinding hats do the talking as haunting vocals pierce the thick, midnight air.&nbsp; Also, the package comes complete with the tool version of &#8220;Dis&#8221; for those creative moments.

Uto&#8217;s latest outing on his own Agile Recordings kicks off with an ultra-sensual rhythm section before letting the sly bassline set the tone and the quirky percussion intertwine with discordant synths and vocal snippets.&nbsp; On the first rework of &#8220;Reflective&#8221;, we have none other than the mighty Dosem who fattens things up, mangles the original&#8217;s vocal edits and then adds his trademarked melodic chords for a more nostalgic feel. Closing up, Paride Saraceni&#8217;s percussion-led version of the same track boasts commanding stabs, while the rubber-band bass holds everything together in style.

Paride Saraceni is back on Agile and gets straight to the point with &#8220;Skyline&#8221;, where we find him rolling out the percussion and bringing in classy, evolving synths over a rocksteady drumset.&nbsp; The optimistic vibe of &#8220;West Village&#8221; is up next, letting a rubber-band bassline take control, while persistent stabs keep the momentum going and hypnotic electronics grind away in the background.

It&#8217;s time for our sixth Agility V/A compilation, and once again, label boss Uto Karem has rounded up seven earth-shattering offerings which represent our sound at the moment.&nbsp; Dema kicks things off with the cavernous &#8220;Chilling&#8221;, after which Many Reasons loop things out with &#8220;Out Of Control&#8221;.&nbsp; If you&#8217;re looking for some bass-heavy action, D-Deck has got you covered and Tony Dee will bring out the subs in style.&nbsp; David Dega and Nino Bua team up for the aptly-titled &#8220;Come Play&#8221;, Yado Atiz brings out the quirky riffs, and Unique (CRO) closes up with a mangled vocals and a rubber-band bassline.

We welcome Ramon Tapia to Agile as he whips out a cut that never lets up, courtesy of a persistent stab that manically runs throughout the length of the affair.&nbsp; Meanwhile, the locomotive rhythm section chugs away effortlessly and provides the perfect backdrop for subliminal synth washes to do their thing.&nbsp; Label boss Uto Karem is on the remix, and he dubs things out in his version, keeping things claustrophobic and tense.&nbsp; Cavernous effects offer some welcomed breathing space and the sub bass rumbles on.

Ramon Tapia - The Joker (Uto Karem Remix)

Fabian Argomedo returns to Agile and brings some filtered goodness to the table with &#8220;Chakra&#8221;, as a mutated sample goes through the motions alongside meaty sub-bass and a crackling rhythm section.&nbsp; On &#8220;Norteando&#8221; things are a bit more dubby, with subtle synths riffing away while spaced-out madness, quirky vocal edits, and cavernous, percussive stabs lead the way.

Rafa Barrios is back on Agile and this time he delivers three tracks which truly demonstrate his mastery of the Groove.&nbsp; &#8220;Distraido&#8221; is led by a busy rhythm section which only comes up to breathe when spoken word passages appear.&nbsp; The mysterious vibe is reinforced by streamlined synths which are cleverly placed throughout.&nbsp; On &#8220;Animals&#8221; we are treated to a more cavernous approach, full of suspenseful rises and tons of low-end goodness.&nbsp; Closing up with &#8220;Perfect Sunday&#8221;, things get kicked up a notch and grinding percussion steals the spotlight alongside moody, commanding stabs.

Rafa Barrios - Distraido (Original Mix)

Landmark is back on Agile and things get busy with the tittle track&#8217;s commanding riff which drives the affair home, while an evolving arrangement keeps everyone on their toes, together with haunting synths.&nbsp; On &#8220;TTT&#8221; the rubber-band sub bass sets the mood for the hypnotic loop made out of vintage keys, as the steamrolling rhythm section clears everything in its path.&nbsp; &#8220;Panic Control&#8221; closes the EP and boasts funked-out electronics, a sleazy bassline and playful percussion, all coming together to support the tense melody which unfolds.

We are very excited to welcome Danilo Vigorito to the Agile ranks with three stomping tracks that emanate pure style and class.&nbsp; The title track kicks things off with a grinding rhythm section resting on juicy sub bass, with simple percussion patterns making way for discordant riffs.&nbsp; &#8220;Falls Dance&#8221; picks up from there boasting a slightly more tribal edge, but lets a sharp, infectious synth riff do all the talking.&nbsp; The EP closes with the less-is-more approach of &#8220;2003 Dance&#8221; and mutating chords take center stage, while the rocksteadt drumset chugs away effortlessly.

Danilo Vigorito - Falls Dance (Original Mix)

Stanny Franssen teams up with Ortin Cam for a wild roller-coaster ride and the boys show their intentions right off the bat with &#8220;The Duck&#8221;, where off-kilter percussion is joined by warped electronics and psychotic phrases, only to be topped off by crushed audio.&nbsp; Things are a bit more straightforward on &#8220;Skint&#8221;, which is based on what initially seems like regular chords.&nbsp; Then, of course, the affair takes a tricky turn into la-la land, but luckily the steamrolling rhythm section holds everything together with ease.

Stanny Franssen & Ortin Cam - Skint (Original Mix)

The fresh-faced Luis Delay brings his sound to Agile and &#8220;Marinera&#8221; sets the tone perfectly with pulsating bass and a locomotive rhythm section, the perfect backdrop for a steel drum melody and commanding synth stabs.&nbsp; &#8220;Serena&#8221; picks up from there with a slightly more subliminal vibe, a direct result of cavernous FX washes and haunting riffs.

Lewis Delay - Serena (Original Mix)

The boss teams up with the ever-prolific Hollen for this one-tracker, but it&#8217;s all you could have ever asked for as it kicks down the door with an earth shattering bassline and cavernous effects.&nbsp; Razor-sharp cymbals balance things out with the necessary shine as the boys prepare us for a breakdown built for maximum devastation together with surgically precise percussion from the future.

Uto Karem & Hollen - Revolt (Original Mix)

We welcome Irregular Synth to Agile with his Spaghetti Western-flavored EP,&nbsp; and &#8220;Bonanza&#8221; is up first, going for a less-is-more approach to the arrangement, sprinkled with lazy percussion and quirky effects.&nbsp; The title track is up next and toughens things up with its steamrolling rhythm section, cavernous vibe and menacing synths stabs.&nbsp; And the third chapter, the rumbling &#8220;La Santanera&#8221;, seals the deal with dominating low-end and a playful, metallic riff.

Irregular Synth - Rawhide (Original Mix)

Landmark is back on Agile and &#8220;Revolution&#8221; kicks things off with a rubber-band bassline and looped-out samples, however none of these prepare the unsuspecting listener for the soulful vocal which creeps in and ends up leading the affair.&nbsp; The arpeggio-led &#8220;Only Solution&#8221; is up next, letting its rocksteady rhythm section pave the way for the constant building, and it&#8217;s an effortless ride thanks to the masterful arrangement and anthemic approach.

Danny makes his Agile debut and sets it off with the quirky arrangement of the title track, led by vocal snippets and sprinkled with a healthy assortment of effects.&nbsp; Discordant elements work frantically in the background while the busy rhythm section and distant, buzzing synths complete the trip.&nbsp; &#8220;Snake Eyes&#8221; is up next, and classy chords take center stage as a juicy, rubber-band bassline holds the affair together and clever edits are added to the cavernous vibe.

Danny Serrano - Secret Garden (Original Mix)

Gaston Zani brings &#8220;Shuttle&#8221; to the Agile table and holds the vibe down perfectly with commanding stabs and a thunderous rhythm section.&nbsp; Keeping things in the shadows, spoken word samples are mangled beyond recognition and quirky effects ensure maximum suspense. 
Matt Sassari&#8217;s interpretation introduces classy, staccato chords and discordant vocal snippets while crackling drums pierce the midnight air together with tense atmospherics.
