Shad (Shadrach Kabango) is a Canadian recording artist of Rwandan descent, raised in London Ontario. He is known for blending humour and weighty themes, inspiring positivity while exploring a range of sounds over the course of his 20-year career. Shad won the Juno Award for Rap Recording Of The Year in 2011 and five of his albums have been shortlisted for the Polaris Music Prize for Canadian Album Of The Year, the most shortlist nominations of any artist in the prize’s history. Shad has also served as a broadcaster, hosting CBC Radio's Q and Netflix’s Emmy and Peabody Award-winning series Hip-Hop Evolution, and has taught hip-hop-related courses at both Wilfrid Laurier University and the University of Toronto.

15 Chapters - fifteen pieces of us. The chapters will be released
in combinations of 1, 2, 3, 4 and finally 5. Combined the 5 releases
will consist of 15 songs.

This is my outlet for that battle that goes on in a woman's highly emotional genetic make-up via music- its ups and downs, highs and lows. Some days i'm listening to Herman's Hermits tunes over and over- found a great tune to cover, other days i'm sitting alone in my room with my keyboard, a guitar and a packet of kettles barbeque chips crying over a sad little riff I made up, then crying coz I forgot it as soon as I wrote it. So here I will put up all the carnage. One day someone in high places might like my junk and give me access to the best double bass, trumpet and piano players on Earth. Till then I use Garageband on my iPhone 4 to make my tunes.
