YAMANE is the first release of Yamane (Federico 
Pipia), a project born in Bologna as a live techno solo with hardware instruments and live electronics. Yamane’s sound research is focused 
on the union of different instruments and sounds, using acoustic, electronic and digital elements. The release offers six tracks composed with different approaches but united by his conception of classical composition: starting from Ivory, the opening track, produced entirely with percussive and melodic sounds coming from a prepared piano, passing through Ant Eater, a rhythmic track that combines a very acoustic and tribal feel with a typically analogue and acid one. Track number

3 is one of the catchiest, How To Do, a dry and sharp piece marked by the overlapping of spoken and aseptic vocal interventions. Number 4 is Ghost Track, a fluid song where ambient sounds and unstable synthesizers meet each other in an anxious and frenetic crescendo, and 5 is Sky Sky Sky, a powerful track with a killer synth riff and a very epic and dreamy atmosphere. Last track is Scanner, developed on the harmonic and rhythm section of old scanners and printers, 
adds a more particular and hardcore feel to the release: a combination of a classical symphonic approach with a modern techno vision.


DE RIO is a young collective from Florence (IT) born in 2019 that deals with the promotion of club culture organizing events, parties, djsets and live sets in unusual, unexpected and secret places. 
Since 2021 DE RIO has also become an independent label focused on techno music through the productions of its residents, friends and emerging artists, distributed by Lobster Distribution.

Anni Nöps at Sonic Acts

The title of the piece is the same as Indian raga Shrî, which signifies lethargy, melancholy, tenderness, love, spirituality, and is also a call for evening prayer. The harmony is based on the same raga scale. The rhythm is based on a change of timbre and pitch by creating different layers of pulse, dynamics, and micro-changes rather than structured rhythmical patterns. The electronics support the score in such a way that it creates smooth, almost imperceptible transformations from one timbral layer to another. Throughout the piece, the harmony expands by pizzicato notes that create new timbral/pitch layers. These disappear or merge from one layer to another until it grows into one soundscape.
The work was commissioned by the Thames festival Trust. The World premiere was performed by ensemble Apartment House on 18 September, in Tower Bridge, London, in 2019.
The work is dedicated to Apartment House.
