Scams of all types continue to increase, the research found, now accounting for over three-quarters of all detections. From April-June alone, Avast researchers uncovered a range of prolific scams ranging from dating hoaxes to fraudulent donation sites to deceptive advertising to thousands of new phishing emails. The methods may vary, but the end goal remains the same: to deceive unsuspecting individuals into revealing sensitive information or parting with their hard-earned money.


Tech support scams are fraudulent activities that prey on unwitting victims by using scare and high-pressure tactics. Through phone calls, pop-ups, texts, or emails, a scammer pretends to offer technical support services and tries to fool victims into paying for fake services or providing remote access to their computer. Scammers often pose as representatives from a recognised organization (financial institutions, utility companies, technology providers, or virtual currency exchanges), offering to resolve issues related to a compromised email or bank account, a virus on a computer, or even a software license renewal.


Avast has partnered with the National Council on Aging (NCOA) to help empower older adults on how to make the most of the Internet safely and protect their personal cyber security. Together they developed educational content to make privacy and security easy and simple for people of all ages, including articles, guides, webinars and videos on topics such as phishing scams, strong passwords, sweetheart scams, digital health and tech support scams.


"There are simple steps older adults can take to be safe online," said Ramsey Alwin, President and CEO of the National Council on Aging. "Through our partnership with Avast, we are empowering older adults with trusted information on everything from how to avoid sweetheart scams to how to identify phishing and keep their passwords safe."





In line with the trends observed in Q2, malvertising continues to serve as very strong tools for scammers, thanks to which they spread various categories of scams. This includes popular dating scams, or financial scams for example. These threats have maintained their strong position, but this is not the case with technical support scams. However, we are seeing the use of false reports of viruses being found to exploit them for sales purposes. Additionally, extortion email scams and phishing threats have both witnessed an uptick in popularity.


Upon clicking these deceptive pop-ups, unsuspecting users may find themselves redirected to a fake website. These fraudulent sites often take the form of straightforward phishing pages, where users are asked to enter personal credit card information under the guise of providing antivirus services. The scam can take many forms.

The most common scheme in use is the one originally implemented in Google Authenticator, which has become a de facto standard, of sorts. This involves a otpauth:// URI scheme that is commonly shared via a QR Code. These embed the secret directly into the URI as plaintext, and therefore both the URI and the QR Code encoding of it are usable forever - unless the shared secret is reset on the validator end. In this scheme, the QR code cannot "expire".





Okta Verify with Push does registration via QR code, but the QR code does not encode an otpauth:// URI and is not compatible with Google Authenticator. Instead, it encodes a proprietary token that the app then uses to retrieve the actual shared secret from the validator's servers (and register itself for push notifications/authentication in the process). This QR code is 
not
 reusable, and can also expire on the server end before it is registered.


FortiToken Mobile also does registration via QR code, but again the QR code does not encode an otpauth:// URI and is not compatible with Google Authenticator. This is yet another proprietary token that the app uses to retrieve the actual shared secret from the validator's servers, much like Okta Verify with Push. The QR code that is shared with FortiToken has an expiry set at 72 hours and is not usable after that time, nor is it usable more than once


All of Steam Guard, Okta, and FortiToken use the RFC 6238 TOTP algorithm, with a secret that would work perfectly well in other applications implementing the same algorithm if you were able to extract/register it. Two of them use QR codes. But the shared secret is never encoded in the QR code, and the proprietary token that is in the QR code only lasts as long as the server is willing to exchange it for the actual shared secret.

Bots have spawned fine for me everytime I've ever used them, until today. I was going to practice on tr_walkway, but only 2 bots were spawned. After trying to fix it with tr_walkway's in-game bot spawn system (which didn't work), I decided to try other maps. Once again, only 2 bots. Please help!


Okay, I know it is a pretty common problem for people to not have bots spawn on tr_walkway, tr_rocket_shooting2, etc, and they will just get the reply "Type sv_allow_point_servercommand always" But you see, I've tried that one hundred times now, and every single thing I know about tf2 along with it. I think there may be something more than just sv_allow_point_servercommand always wrong with my game. The bots do not spawn on those maps I listed earlier. On walkway, If I add them manually to blu, they just act weird and dont walk in a straight line, on rocket shooting, THey just strafe really fast (I actually like that, because I can practice my scout) and they don't stay in the same place or jump.


Whenever I go on to tr_walkway only one bot is spawning. I have put on "sv_allow_point_server always" and "sv_cheats 1" but only one bot is walking along the walkway Do anyone know why this happens? Help would be appreciated!


I don't have any scripts or graphics configs on my laptop. On my desktop, I use Chris' dx9frames. I had bot spawning issues on both of those.
Even with the console command though, the bots often stop spawning after a while. They're still in server, but they stop spawning to the walkway. Kicking and/or killing the bots doesn't work either.

Walkway
 is a community-made training map. It features AI bots that spawn and walk along the long walkway that runs down the whole map. There are various different options, toggled by shooting in-game buttons, that can customize the playfield to the player's taste. It is useful for headshot training, practicing jumps, and general practice.Other than just offering training help, it is an outstanding choice of map for testing out custom items and their functions, due to the versatile settings of bots.


The control room, adjacent to where the player spawns, is the nerve center of tr_walkway. It has many controls that will affect the behavior of the bots running along the walkway. These buttons affect everything a bot can do from jumping to strafing, whether or not to fire and more. These buttons can be activated by hitting them with any available weapon.


The walkway is a long strip with hills and a few overhanging catwalks which lead to a pit at the end. The bots on this map will run along this strip (all at the same speed) behaving according to whichever buttons the player has activated in the control room.Alongside the buttons in the control room, there are various controls in the walkway itself.


The most common problem here is a lack of navmeshes; bots only work on maps that have navmeshes. You can check to see if a map has a navmesh with sv_cheats 1 nav_edit 1; if you see a bunch of rectangles appear on the floor that's a navmesh. (Turn the display back off with nav_edit 0.) If the map lacks a navmesh, you can create a automatic one with nav_generate (also a cheats command).


On certain maps, bots can work, but on others they can't - like Payload race, CTF Doomsday, MVM and Arena. They will stand still in the spawn location for the reason that they don't have instructions on where to go.


To fix this, join any map (like ctf_2fort, for example). Type sv_cheats 1 in the console, then type nav_generate. As soon as you type this in, your game will lag for a bit, so you'll have to wait. This will make the bots w

Pretty much the title, as a budget Hearthstone player I disenchant all the extra gold cards I get, it would be nice if decks didn't become unplayable if you remove a golden card when you have the non-golden version.


TBH I don't think Minecraft ever lost it's golden age, all that happened was we grew up and became nostalgic over the good ol' days when everyone our age played. But if I had to pick between these versions I'd choose the most recent.


The fact that I have never updated past 1.6 is pretty telling; if you ignore later versions I'd still call it the best version due to having features that older versions did not, such as blocks of coal (prior to this I only mined what I needed; coal currently makes up 2/3 of all ores I mine so this was quite a big change in terms of resource collection rates) and other blocks and items, mobs (baby zombies and horses), and bug fixes (e.g. 1.6 fixed a bug where decaying lava would often never go away. 1.6 is also the least-affected by various changes to the launcher/online assets, e.g. you can't get sound anymore in 1.5 and earlier but can still get it in 1.6 if you use the old launcher to download the assets properly. Any version before 1.7.10 no longer has custom skins but you can just use a resource pack to get around that, as I did long before as a measure against the servers going down).

1.6 does have some downsides though; namely, regional difficulty, which makes little sense for somebody with my playstyle as I'm always moving around so it would never get very high, and it would be even worse for somebody who like to travel far distances since I don't move very quickly (in 1.5. it was as if it is always at 100%; in TMCW I made it so it is only based on total playtime, which makes a lot more sense. 1.8 made things even worse by requiring that it reaches at least 2 (which is never reached on Easy) before any effects begin, instead of ramping up from 0 on the first day). A lot of people complained about the nerfs to regen/health potions and golden apples but I don't care about those changes since aside from curing a couple zombie villagers I don't use them. Also, I almost forgot - server lag from zombies unable to pathfind to their target, which I've all but forgotten about since I had patched it long ago (partly based on a fix from Forge, plus my own changes to ensure they can't load chunks outside of the player's loaded chunk area, a major source of lag).

Also, since mods were mentioned, my opinion is that when a mod makes significant changes to the game it no longer really matters what version it is based on; you can hardly say that my own mod is anything like 1.6 (or 1.7+, despite having content from/similar to them) and if I ever did update it to newer version I would not adapt it to that version, but simply replace it (e.g. I assume that mods like BoP changed their world generation to accommodate the changes in 1.7 while a 1.7+ version of TMCW would look exactly the same, aside from the changes I make with each major update; a world created with TMCWv5 is as different from TM

When msvcrt.dll became a first-class citizen (i.e. a system DLL) some time during the lifetime of XP, some changes were also made to it. Incompatible changes, I should add. Example: if you built a program against the VS CRT in former times (e.g. using the WDK/DDK) you could rely on the fact that it works starting with the least common denominator of existing msvcrt.dll versions. However, at some point MS decided that programs built to target, say, XP could rely on the new functionality that was snuck into newer versions of msvcrt.dll. Hence the observed incompatibility.


Should I redistribute msvcrt.dll with my application and use the private dll if some of the application's libs dynamically depend on msvcrt.dll? I.e. are any incompatibility issues possible with the system's msvcrt.dll (dll hell)? Application is targeted for Windows Server systems.

 redistribute the Microsoft Visual C Runtime with your application, because Windows does not ship with any Microsoft Visual C Runtime. There might happen to be a DLL called msvcrt.dll (which is not guaranteed), it is not the MSVCRT.


The other is the msvcrt.dll (with no numbers in the file name) in System32 folder, which is intended to be used ONLY by the OS itself since some time ago. And applications should never replace/reinstall it. However, some applications do link to it, for some reasons like to remove the extra dependencies to install. But be aware that it is not guaranteed to be available in future Windows version.


msvcrt.dll has become a defacto part of the OS distribution. On windows 98 and 95 and possibly NT4 it was possible to get OS installs without it if one went to care to strip apps like WordPad out of the installation.

Existing Apple suppliers are also hoping to produce components for the Apple Car. Foxconn has an EV manufacturing arm and is working on a software platform for carmakers, while Luxshare is working with Chinese automaker Chery to build EVs. Apple isn't likely to work with either company directly on a car, but they could have key roles in the company's Apple Car supply chain.


There were two things that came to my mind as to how apple can combat wage inflation.
1. Automation: How much will Apple invest in automation and work with their suppliers to reduce dependency on labor, especially eliminating the low to medium skill jobs. However, this is not easy and will take time.
2. Diversification of supplier base: Given the need to expand the manufacturing footprint and move to cheaper locations, India is a potential destination for apple with one of the solutions being to manufacture the older iPhones in Bangalore [1]. Yet, developing new suppliers and maintaining quality and scale in India is a whole new challenge.


From a competitiveness standpoint, the quality, such as

But due to improvements in manufacturing technology and expanded chip capacity, SSD prices had been dropping, enabling consumers and enterprise customers to view SSDs as a viable alternative to conventional storage. However, prices are increasing due to chip shortages and a general volatile market -- more recently in 2020 and 2021, due to COVID-19-related supply chain issues. Fluctuating demand for flash chips has kept pricing for SSDs variable, but the price for an SSD remains higher than an HDD.


The moving parts of HDDs increase the chance of failures. To compensate, HDD manufacturers have added shock sensors to protect drives and other components inside PCs. This type of sensor detects if the machine is about to fall and takes steps to shut down the HDD and related critical hardware.





The IBM 2314 direct access storage facility is introduced. It was an improvement over the 2311 disk storage drive and provided higher data storage density. Eight drives (plus a spare) with removable 29 MB disk packs shared one control unit. The extra drive was a spare for the user or could be worked on by a field engineer while the other eight were in use by the customer. Attached to a System/360 computer, it supported applications like online banking, ATMs, and just-in-time manufacturing.


While this research is more for testing at the moment, the talks could also relate to future manufacturing efforts, including making smaller components that could shrink down the overall collection of sensors to a more manageable size, possibly to one that could be more easily integrated into the "Apple Car's" design.

Yuvan is a youth who hangs out with his four friends: Shah Rukh Khan, a man living thirty years in the past; Vijay, a basketball player; Amitabh Rajkamal; and Anand, a moneylender. He falls in love with a girl named Anjana and has a grudge against her brother Arjun Prabhakar, a police officer. Arjun warns Yuvan not to fall in love with Anjana, but he does so anyway. As a mark of revenge, Arjun gets involved in a scam involving an MLM company and puts the blame on Yuvan. How Yuvan comes out of this problem and reunites with Anjana forms the rest of the story.


I've checked multiple websites, and I can only find it with Hindi/Tamil/Malayalam audio and English subtitles or Telugu without any subtitles. It'd be nice to watch the movie in its original language - especially since I am Telugu. It's weird that Baahubali 1 is easily available in Telugu while that doesn't seem to be the case for the 2nd movie.
