How bubbly playful (and how did I miss it?)

Yesterday I had squids for dinner 🫠  This music would have been very fitting 😆 Fun track!

Hangin by a thread, i thought of something someone said, then slipped beyond the pale to walk amongst the shadows of the pine.
The southern wind sublime upon my face, the tracks of tears erased, washed clean of any trace.

Part of a new album I've been uploading, featuring compositions written over the last several months of 2021. If anyone can pinpoint what all of these compositions have in common, musically-speaking, put it in the comments - there was a concept tying everything together but I'm not going to reveal what it was, haha.

This album is going to be called "Prohibited Topics," a tribute to the textbook authors and teachers whose work is being disrupted by right wing efforts to stifle education about racial disparity and structural racism in the US. These compositions weren't written with this subject matter in mind, full-disclosure, but the album has now been named in response to this issue and will be dedicated to educators, and to truth, which will win in the end despite efforts to silence it.

Squids Are Ok

This idea was one of those that you have to hurry up and hit record before the idea passes... so I did. The original recording received a lot of listens and feedback, but it was not a quality recording. The idea was there. I just did my best to salvage what was recorded and remix it into this one mix.

... when I say "Balkans", I mean music from southeastern Europe :-) and refer to Balkan Beat Box, Balkanesque ... stuff like this. & I can only recommend, check out youtube for Balkan grooves <3 - My concrete Balkan experience was a trip to Split (with my old VW Beetle, without spare wheel); unfortunately I didn't hear a single Balkan brass band, at that time :-D ............................. Enjoy !

Whoever did the final mix on this tune pushed the second verse of the vocals way out of sync. Not sure how he managed that as the rest of vocals remained in sync. Unfortunately, Steve can’t fix this, nor re-record the vocals, because the tracks are no longer available. A pity, because he feels the vocals could be done better second time around, given more time to perfect them.

Some of the best music around today is #UNSIGNED so don’t dismiss it without a listen; it is a #MYTH that it is inferior to #SIGNED music!
