Bow Kid replaces Frisk. She's very similar to the most common fanon personality for her: shy, but determined and cheerful all the same... most of the time. (Let's just say that certain routes in this game don't really do her a lot of favors.) After hearing Tim's story about what happened to Hat Kid, which had been kept under wraps for years, Bow sets off on a rescue mission. She's determined to save Harriet and put everything right... one way or another. And since this AU runs on narrator!Frisk, you get to hear a lot of Bow's internal thoughts throughout your journey!
Tim, the CEO of Time, takes a *heavily reduced* Chara role. While he isn't the "narrator" of this world, nor he is related in any fashion to Mustache Girl (the Asgore/Asriel replacement,) he DOES tell Bow the opening story about how Hat Kid and the planet Earth were deemed "lost causes" and abandoned.

Snatcher takes on an expanded Napstablook role. With him unable to properly do anything to the plentiful Mafia freeloaders in Subcon (and being bitter to no end because of that fact,) when Snatcher finds Bow in his forest, he tries to make HER sign a contract (and thus steal her soul) instead... only to once again be thwarted almost immediately by Cooking Cat and Goofy Mafia.
When Bow next meets Snatcher later on, this time on her own, the purple ghost's new goal is to “make your lifeless body sign a contract for you," being his usual bastard self all the while.

Vanessa takes the role of Glyde. You know her deal. Was rather controlling with her Prince, thought he was cheating on her and locked him up in the basement for dead, became an eldritch tomato. In this timeline however... something has changed. On top of everything else that Mu's Time Piece smashing spree caused, it also somehow freed Vanessa from her near-lifelong curse?? For the first time (probably in her life,) she’s able to think clearly without all that bad magic stuffing things up. Realizing that her Prince likely wouldn’t want to see her again, wherever he might be, Vanessa voluntarily stays in the manor for the most part nowadays. All the same, she has a persistent guilt over her curse-addled actions and (to her) a fruitless desire to patch things up with her Prince.

DJ Grooves fills the role of Papyrus. Amidst the chaos caused by Mustache Girl's reign and the further changes to the world, the Conductor was able to successfully remove Grooves from Dead Bird Studios and claim it as his sole property, leading to the penguin moving to Alpine Skyline.
Nowadays, he spends his days with Hat Kid and works on smaller-scale movies, which have garnered a small but loyal fanbase in Alpine. He seems to have finally gotten the happy life he wanted! ...at first glance.

Subcon Forest is the "Ruins" of this world. Mustache Girl's shenanigans with the Time Pieces left Mafia Town permanently covered in lava, forcing all of the Mafia (+ Cooking Cat) to relocate to more hospitable territory. In spite of its spookiness and cursed vibes, Subcon Forest actually fit the bill pretty nicely... much to Snatcher's dismay. Cooking Cat and Goofy Mafia are now the guardians of this new Mafia settlement, protecting the Mafia from Snatcher (and oftentimes their own stupidity.)

The vast majority of this is a straight remix of the original Oh It's You from AHIT; as Snatcher doesn't change between there and this AU, I figured it was the most fitting avenue to take. Didn't want this to have NOTHING majorly new though, so I also decided to use the Moonside Cafe to play the vocal melody from Man on the Internet's lyrical cover! It was somehow EVEN MORE OF A PAIN IN THE ASS to transcribe than Don't Forget was over on my main, even taking creative liberties into account, but it was well worth the effort.
This was also my first foray into figuring out how LFO works with TX16WX. It was always something I did in Mixcraft itself through the MIDI modulation functions, so it was surreal (yet satisfying) to figure out within a complex soundfont player, and by total mistake too lmao. Mustache Girl takes on a hybrid Asgore and Asriel role. Years ago, she took Hat Kid's Time Pieces and set into motion a chain of events that would drastically change the world as everyone knew it, including her being in charge of the whole world. She thought this would be the best way to serve "proper" justice back then, but now? She's just tired. Mu's *been* done with this for quite some time, and she feels deeply trapped. That no matter how much she just wants to turn back the clock and just have a friend, or even a home to call her own... she's come so far, she can't stop now! The spark that started this mess is long gone (and that's putting it lightly,) but Mu sure as hell isn't going to actually say it, let alone give in to Bow without a fight.

Cooking Cat and Goofy Mafia share the Toriel role. They both watch over the settlement in Subcon Forest, trying to keep the Mafia safe from danger (self-imposed or otherwise.) Notably though, Cookie is the only one to talk to Bow Kid unprompted, even during the tutorial fight in which this Anticipation plays. This is but the start of a trend, as Bow's very presence pushes Cooking Cat and Goofy Mafia's bond to its very limit, and maybe even beyond...
As for "this minion," that's one of *Snatcher's* many minions in Subcon Forest. Don't worry though; it's not actually possible to kill them on most routes!

Alpine Skyline, alongside the major areas within that it entails, replaces the Snowdin Forest. While the mountain range was mostly spared from the larger consequences of Mu's Time Piece smashing, the area's own inherent quirks led to some... strange things. Snow appearing in places where it shouldn't be, structures that once stood proud for eons needing to be repaired (or even rebuilt,) and the list goes on. The Nomads and Goats still live very happy lives here though, these are moreso minor inconveniences for them than anything else. Now Bow Kid, on the other hand! She's got a long road ahead before she can make it out of the Alpine.

So uhhh yup, turns out this AU isn't just angst. It's now angst with a Snowy replacement! XD
Ok but for real tho, I'm so incredibly happy with how this turned out. I didn't want to just have 5 different Snowy replacements for each separate area of the Alpine Skyline (cause goddamn it please show my account's minutes SOME form of mercy,) yet I figured merging together different aspects of several tracks into one might somewhat make up the difference while still fitting what I wanted to go for. And Kristian did a fantastic job at doing just that! Just about the only part of the Alpine that wound up not being represented in SOME way (major or minor) was the Lava Cake, but `cut us some slack here man this was so fuckin hard to even come up with the idea for lmaooooo.` The track gave me vibes of Mount Pajamaja's themes from Mario and Luigi Dream Team (albeit likely unintentional,) so I ran with that a wee bit more while finalizing the mix.

Being nicer and more open than the others, Goofy and Cookie very quickly found common ground, and a friendship formed from there. Not having much else to do anymore, they help watch over Subcon Forest and the new Mafia settlements there (which Mafia Boss and Snatcher don't always make easy.)
When Bow's spaceship crash lands, Cooking Cat is ready and raring to help as always! As for Goofy Mafia... his fear of "slimy space aliens" is still here. The ever-agitated Mafia Boss takes on a hybrid Flowey and Mad Dummy role. He already wasn't a pleasant guy before (being mashed into mush and stuck in a jar certainly didn't help,) but ever since Mustache Girl took control, his anger has been off the charts! Above all else, he wants to get his body back and have his revenge on the red-hooded brat, and he sees Bow as the *perfect ticket* to grabbing the Time Pieces unhindered. Mafia Boss is encountered several times throughout the story, always coming at Bow with some sort of scheme (hairbrained or otherwise) to get her killed. This track plays before battles that, in one way or another, were caused by Mafia Boss' interference.

...Yup you're seeing that right. This track is higher up in the OST order, as it's used in more scenarios than the original track it replaces!!
Had a ton of fun doing this arrangement. As soon as Pascal Michael Stiefel dropped Nyakuza Goons Causing Trouble, I knew it would be a PERFECT stylistic fit for the "predummy.ogg" replacement. Threw in some Mafia Town motifs for good measure, and also changed the stylization of some things to fit Mafia Boss *slightly* more. I used *some* more "game-like" soundfonts in this, but ProjectSAM Swing and Swing More are what I wound up using for a large chunk of this track's backbone, along with some Xpand!2 presets for good measure.
All in all, I'm pretty happy with how this turned out, and I hope y'all enjoy! :3 --Ashley
