If you've spoken to me at all over the past 8 or 9 months, u probably know I've been thinking about this mix for a while. I decided to move slowly and select each track with intent over the course of the year. I have been trying hard to build a healthier relationship with myself, to be less fearful, to be more open to joy when it comes, to grieve where I haven't allowed myself to. All the songs I've picked have spoken to me in some way throughout this time.

SO. In the interests of being vulnerable and pursuing pleasure, this is my take on a pop mix featuring a bunch of R&B, New Jack Swing, and House tracks from between the late 80s to early 00s. Full of verses, choruses, vocals, harmonic mixes and phrasing. We are embracing sincerity, cringe, optimism, and happiness in 2023!

I quite literally worked on this nearly the whole year so I hope it speaks to u and u enjoy it! It is designed for home listening, so u can give it a spin anywhere really. I have created it as part one of a two part series, the 2nd half of which will be very different but made to be heard side by side with part one :)
