Minotor is a French duo based in south of France resulting of a long term friendship, and after many years of producing and DJing solo or in other partnerships they decided to work together in 2013. Both share a common passion for all sorts of different musical styles which made their first productions very diverse with a focus on emotion and musicality. Minotor's music absorbs influences from many genres from pop rock to film score, they gradually laid the foundation for their own distinctive melodic and deep music style being heavily influenced by the underground Berlin techno scene and artists such as Jon Hopkins, Max Cooper, Nicolas Jaar ... In march 2014 , they decided to take the project to the next level by building a new studio that will allow recording of live musicians to go even further in their musical approach. Upcoming projects include participation to the compilation Tour de traum on the mythical label Traum schallplatten, the release of an EP on the London based label Arch44 and the premiere of their new live act.

This EP should give you an insight into one of the freshest producers out there at the moment, the German @lukasendhardt. He grew up among the most diverse kinds of big and small percussion instruments since his father is a Latin jazz percussionist. He always have felt connected to rhythms from cultures that are not his own. In one way or another, it has led a life deep in several rhythms. 
His catalogue includes much-loved work; most obvious thing you will hear is the focus on Brazilian rhythms. Lately Lukas had been very fascinated by the religions based on Yoruba traditions, especially Brazilian Candomblé. By the looks of it, we can understand how Babalaô EP was born. In Yoruba culture Babalaô (Babalawo) is the priest dedicated to the worship of Orunmila-Ifá, epiphany of divination. 
In that light, Lukas has created a work peppered with catchy tunes to provide us a cultural extrapolation. Therefore, this is not just about synthesis between two musical cultures but also between relaxing chill out music and highly energetic themes. All highlighted by his own hallucinogenic filter.
His mother, Burga Endhardt, painted the art that draws the cover. We can notice some similarities between EP & artwork: widely warming, organic taste, kind of surrealness too. It includes different layers, natural forms and shapes. We think that is a picture-perfect match.
Since it is deep, dubby, laid-back but always driving, the four tracks are geared for the dance floor. Nevertheless, certain elements reveal a hidden fringe where Lukas are serving contemplative realness. Besides the three original tracks by Lukas, we also have a penetrating perspective channeled in @arutani’s remix, delivered as a striking extra for the listener.
In short, the EP is a useful indicator for where Lukas is at right now stylistically and reflects as a direct correlation with our motto: slow is the new fast and awesome too

Sunday morning, the most beautiful sunrise, after almost a whole week in the desert. It was been the coldest night so far, I remember setting up my gear, nervously hoping it wouldn’t let me down, when the sound-technician came up to me and said, "We might have a problem, there’s a storm coming!“. I turned around and saw a huge dark wall of sand reaching up to the sky, rolling into our direction.
I started playing anyways, and somehow the storm merged together with the lyrics of my songs, and changed their meaning. It had been the roughest condition I ever played in, and it really was a special one. Thank you for that experience!

ART:

The Chapel of Dancing Shadows is a space of contemplation, meditation, wonder. It is a communal space serving as art gallery, refuge, and sound bath. The 8-ft walls are covered in delicate drawings— the first 12 images of a developing 150-plate series of works composing Maria Kreyn’s Codex, an allusion to an invented creation myth. The ceiling is an elaborate CNC cut structure, creating the feeling of an arabesque lace canopy. From it hang detailed rafters and a collection of wind chimes, as an ode to the sounds in the temples of Myanmar.   

"As a child, I doodled. As an adult, the images have evolved into a complex universe in their own right-- a surreal, yet classically inspired world of fantasy, illusion, spatial bending, and mythology. The images are meanderings through the labyrinths of the subconscious. They gesture at a creation myth of an invented civilization, at the beauty and aesthetic of pattern making in the human mind--both visual and literary.  As this body of work evolves, the images find new outlets, new homes, new media to participate in. Making their debut as the walls of an immersive installation (The Chapel of Dancing Shadows), they are now available to enjoy in a smaller, more intimate print form, closer to their original size.”  -Maria

In 2014, i spent my first Burning Man sunrise aboard the legendary Robot Heart bus. To me, it might as well have been Shangri La... 

As i looked outwards to the horizon during the peak of the sunrise in amazement, I glanced over to my good friend and told him that I would not die happily until i had the opportunity to play the Robot Heart bus at Burning Man. 

I'm truly humbled and honored to now have the amazing RH team present you with my set from the Tuesday late night hours. The set begins just as the bus parked itself in deep playa. So i had a special opportunity to welcome everyone who drove, biked, and walked over to the middle of nowhere to experience the nightly musical offerings. 

With that said, I truly hope you enjoy this experience I was grateful to share with the Robot Heart family and the countless people in attendance.

Art: Jar of Sand - Trish Dolman and friends

Jar of Sand is a large-scale (8′ tall x 4′ diameter) canning-style “glass” jar filled with plastic collected from beaches of the Pacific Northwest. By engaging people to clean up our oceans, Jar of Sand intends to create awareness and encourage action. Domestic garbage and pieces of garbage from the Pacific Trash Vortex—the massive island of floating trash—are carried across oceans and wind up on our shores, telling a story of resource extraction, production, and consumption. In this time of climate change and excessive use of fossil fuels, this art installation is a reflection and commentary on our plastic consumption and ultimately unsustainable waste. Participants are welcome to bring plastic that they have collected from the ocean and beaches to the playa and put them in the Jar. The collected plastic will be creatively layered in an over-height custom fabricated jar that will be displayed at Burning Man .

«Arche006» conjures a cataclysm. Heavy freight loaded on steel machinery, rolling at a slow and steady pace unto nowhere. Oblivious Humanity. Metempsychosis. Zurich-based drone project Rakun draws foggy acoustical landscapes in A-Major & Minor for some time now, hence we are proud to present their debut recording on Arche. 

Long-time musical role model Marco Repetto aka Bigeneric accentuates the spiritual, celestial elements of «Arche006» in his large format remake, freely wandering between spiral soundscapes and IDM-esque drum & synth arrangements. 

Arche Musik’s very own Markus Kenel rounds off the release with a mechanical acid techno remake, driving the synth deep into overdrive while surfing the wave of drone layers.

Sabo live Katerblau Kiosk 

Here's the recording for my DJ set from July 2nd, 2017 at the Katerblau Kiosk, hands down my favorite place to play music in Berlin.  The whole venue is a wonderland of discovery, the staff is extremely kind and hospitable, and I don't think I've played for a more open minded crowd in all of Europe. Longer sets allows you to take your time and be patient with the music, and the mixing.  The slow building journey I had imagined in my mind, was possible to make a reality, and extra time allowed me to experiment as well. This was probably my favorite gig of my entire 2 month Summer Sol Europe Tour. I hope you enjoy this mix as much as I had creating it in the Kiosk.  Thanks to Mira, Britta, Martin, Claudia, Joyce, David, Brett, Toto, Sylvie, Dorin, any other friends I may have forgotten who were there, and especially to all you lovely dancers who joined me on this ride. Constant Hiatus - Danny Boy

With his modern interpretation of the ancient Irish ballad «Danny Boy», Constant Hiatus debuts a track where folk is blending into drone and electronica. While open to interpretation, after well a hundred years the meaning of the song can still be applied to life in our time. Consisting of a floating guitar sphere, an army of little Korg devices and his voice, Constant Hiatus brings back memories of attachement, affection and ultimately, love.
 
Angelo Repetto, formerly known as Nkelo, converts the original song into a beat-driven electronic remix surrounded by synthersizer pads. His editing of Constant Hiatus’ voice is transforming the century old lyrics into a yet unheard, new song.

Jack of all trades olan galacticta rounds off the EP with a brute force techno interpretation. Reduced to the max with voices pitched down to basslines, filtered kicks and a lot of rave: this remix is one for the basement.
