This was created shortly after the tragedy that was (and STILL is) the Trayvon Martin murder in 2012. Some Hollywood people wanted to remake Chaka Khan's re-make of the classic and tapped me to come up with a new arrangement literally overnight. My version was eventually not used, but I decided to still post it because hey...I did it in half a day and was proud of it. The original co-writer of the song (Ricky Rouse) came after me earlier this year thinking I was trying to get publicity for something I had up for over 3 years and wasn't even trying to push so *shrugs* whatever. No disrespect intended and definitely no infringement caused as this is simply my original take/rearrangement and nothing more, and was requested by reps for Chaka herself, even if it wasn't used.

Anyway, enjoy, for those who do :)

A poem I wrote some years ago, inspired by an actual long distance dilemma of wanting to be close (geographically and intimately) to a woman who was so far away from where I was. It also covers any situation in which anyone has experienced the frustration of wanting to be close to someone they are intimate with who they can't immediately get to, and so you have to communicate from afar, get creative, or plan for when you can see each other again...this song captures that in words and also the vibe of what you're thinking of and what you'd like to do next time you see each other ;)
