as usual. is a Berlin-based imprint for electronic music, which basically began as a weekly event series in 2013. Four years later, the music label as usual.music was launched and concentrates on releasing a deeply groovin' cutting-edge sound in various facets, delivered by some fabulous artists of the labels surrounding, as well as several other renowned acts with a contemporary sense for underground and club music.

as usual.music is focused on Techhouse and Minimal, with influences of multiform ranges in Techno and House music, such as Deeptech/Deephouse. Deeply groovin' cutting-edge sounds and crispy tight rhythms are basic to what makes it shakin' or bangin' – consequently, the demanding nature of our music is fundamentally made for having maximum aesthetics to please the dancefloors. With no fear to break the rules at some point. It's represented by some of the most interesting artists in the underground music and club scene. We love to connect diverse aspects of creativity to having an intense excitement in projects and concepts. The result is a highly inspiring and perceptive state of quality dance music. Taking the challenge of the ongoing evolution in contemporary music industries and feeling the impulses of tomorrow are implanted genes of our beings.

Beneath the Surface w/ Anderson M - 19.08.22

Equally as creative as a solo artist as he is working alongside a selection of regular collaborators, San Francisco’s Andrew Rasse, aka Butane, continues to expand his rich discography of quality productions across house, techno, minimal and beyond. Fresh from a run of releases on his home imprint Extrasketch, September sees Rasse back alongside fellow studio partner and Alphahouse alumnus Andras Toth as the pairing return to the label for the fifth time with ‘Reaction’. 

Opener ‘The King Is Dead’ is a low-slung minimal production peppered with punchy tribal drums and icy hats, while ‘Weather The Storm’ remains decidedly deep but takes the energy up with a driving bassline and off-kilter rolling percussion, creating a snaking, hazy groove. ‘New York New York’ is a freeform funky tech house cut, with acid-fuelled stabs and warping electronics which create a smoky late-night affair.  ‘Elevate’ sees the pair dive deep into a drummy, cascading trip through hypnotic heavy metallic techno textures. To close, ‘Little Reminder’ mixes playful organic tones with a heady groove to offer up a certified after-hours cut.

Ahmed Tohmé - Resistance

War may not be a typical introduction of a musicians biography, but in this case it’s an important fact that led four brothers, snatched of their childhood, leave friends, family and their beloved home of lebanon to come to germany. Ahmed, the youngest offspring of an ingenuous arabic family, growing up in a prosper and peaceful surrounding found his way to electronic music, which soon became an important part of his life. Every week he rushed to the local records store to listen to the newest releases and witness the evolution of techno music. So it was the logical step when he and his brother Abed decided 2008 to start as a DJ-Team – since then well known as Gebrüder Tohmé – rocking nearly every club in the Rhein-Main-Area.

But djing was not enough for this new talent so Ahmed started producing, influenced by major artist of this time, like Maetrik or Adam Beyer, just to mention a few. So it wasn’t long before other producers took note of his creativity through his debut releases on Autark Records and stunning remixes for other artists. Being courted by Tech-House and Minimal but yet he aimed for a higher target: merging techno beats with powerful melodic soundscapes, for which he soon realised to collaborate with an certain kind of musician.
So he took the chance and locked himself up in the 4MPO-Studios with his friend and coproducer Tomio Tremmel, not only enhancing technical skills but especially the use of sounds and melodies as an expression of his thoughts and feelings.

After months of composing, beat-programming and mixing he is now proud to present his first episode of his musical journey on his new founded label Miava Records, exciting the audience with atmospheric soundscapes, tripping effects and hypnotising beats.
