Always coming at music with a sense of sincerity that carries over into her infectious sounds, she has released on the likes of Uzuri, Meakusma, and Queen Mum's Mail. Always uplifting and filled with life-affirming melodies, her take on house is all about feeling good and sharing love.

On this week's podcast, Whodat's smooth mixing style allows the glory of her selections to shine though. Despite dealing with difficult personal circumstances of her own, on top of the pandemic we've all endured, her music never fails to bring joy. There is warm and diffusive soul from start to finish, with scuffed up beatdown, off-grid Detroit grooves and seductive deep house all adding up to the sort of heartfelt and authentic grooves that the MidWest, and Whodat herself, are so well loved for.

As a DJ and ‘musicologist’, there are few more serious than @antalrushhour. Trying to sum up the musical world of the Rush Hour founder with a few loose signifiers like house or techno would be futile.

Sure, everyone in the industry claims to have been music obsessives since youth, but few have taken it as far as this Dutchman. As a DJ who prefers proper tools like E&S or Rane rotary mixers and Dope Real isolators, since 1996 he has played all across Europe, Australia, Asia and both North and South America. Unlike many, though, he has a wealth and depth of music to call on that is so vast you never quite know what you are going to get: he is as comfortable spinning Chicago and Detroit influenced house as he is rare Afro funk, forgotten disco and everything in between.

"Just back from the Selectors Festival and Maiden Voyage festival in London, I finally had the chance again to DJ for an actual real audience. It was so much fun I am still feeling it. This was something I was really missing the last months.

So still in the mood, I was just spinning some tunes in the music room at a midtempo and at the same time I was thinking about the headphone experience and what would be nice to hear, so I went for the more clean and clear productions - but like always, eventually I am turning it around (this time to Brazilian music) for a few bits, only to get out of it again with some other sounds... anyways: all from the heart."

Like no other, Nico Juice mixes music as a basic ingredient throughout his life. He is the head honcho of the infamous Mo’ Juice parties (alongside Mo Disko), he works for Democrazy as a concert promotor and he is a much admired DJ, firmly embedded in Ghent's (tiny) clubscene. More than anything else, Nico Juice is a longtime vinyl-enthusiast with a chunky record collection, that mainly focuses on obscure - yet infectious - dancefloor gems from all over the globe. Selection-wise, he bravely avoids the tried and tested party formulas and aims for an original, quirky sound to call his own. If we must mention music genres: disco in all its shapes, early house, tropical/exotic stuff, eighties boogie,… every tune is added to the blender meticulously. As such, his DJ-sets are like a vivacious shot of juice, that gives you a taste of the endless possibilities of the night
