From Mr. Finger to Miss Kittin to Seth Troxler, many of the most memorable cuts in house music history spell out, with spoken words, the experience of clubbing while in the club itself. Meta-musical moment found to be effective on the dance floor. So it goes with “Can You Feel It,” 
the latest by Anja Schneider and guest vocalist Parsifal Marin of Brussels Pony Club.

Named after the signature Larry Heard tune that introduced the world to “Jack,” the track is the latest by DJ/producer/radio host/label head Schneider to pay homage to the Chicago greats, following last spring’s Ron Hardy-inspired “Hey,” which became an instant fave when Anja dropped it at the always in demand Mobilee rooftop parties in Barcelona. Expect the same response in summer 2014, when “Can You Feel It,” and flipsides “Dubmission” and “Revolution,” hit the ears of sun-kissed partiers worldwide.

Here is my opening set recored live from The Columbian on Friday night. Its a really chilled out, slow rolling mixture of atmospheric, deep, melodic, and very emotive electronica.

Ive never actually shared a full WUITW set from start to finish, but I enjoyed Saturday's so much so that I felt like I needed to share this one. 

For me this was my most enjoyable DJ experience of 2017. The first two hours are punchy, dark, progressive and euphoric, then we rolling into the final two hours when the sun begins to rise, this is when the vibe gets
 deeeeeep, rolling and very emotional. Enjoy reliving the journey.

Even though esteemed norwegian DJ Ole Martin Vilberg aka Omar V and Robin Craaford, one half of Dance Disorder with Baby G ( Bpitch, Eskimo ) are hardly young guns, they gang up together for the first time on "complete": a blinding cut that harks back to the time with good ol Jack was still the young buck and closely associated with uncle Electro Funk: tough beats, hyperactive claps, a jittering bass and a catchy, squeaking melody are still rattling bones if masterfully pieced together as it is done here. Having become a member of the Moon Harbour agency and label family recently, Germany's mysterious Sable Sheep is back with a new four track EP that continues to explore his trademark tribal tinged tech house sound with great panache.  Sable Sheep is no stranger to success given the widespread deployment of his previous tracks like 'Painting My Fur', and that's a good job, because all of his latest missives are sure-fire dancefloor dynamite.

Upon Burning Skies is the opening track, and one that builds and builds in tension to an invisible peak that will have ravers on the edge of their feet as the tribal male chanting acts like a call to action above bouncing, buoyant kick drums and slick percussive details.  A dub version is also included in the package.

Torn To Pieces is another full-blooded groove that will lock you in from the very first rubbery kick and silvery hi hat ringlet. As they roll on next to each other without any friction at all, a knotted bassline and deft little synth stabs add some detail as a warm wind seems to howl in the background. Its stripped back but fills the airwaves and is the sort of physical track its impossible not to get carried away by.

Finally, Thy Suffer is another warm concoction of sound that Sable Sheep fills with rattling drum hits and sandy shakers. Some twitching alien sounds suggest the presence of life amongst the machines and the deep looping kicks help draw you in.

An EP produced with great precision restraint, Sable Sheep knows just how much to add into the without over doing things or allowing things to get stuck in a rut -- it's a perfect balancing act that is designed for maximum impact on the dancefloor.
